  I made reservation for two and to my surprise there were no waiting. The place looked very crowded but I was seated immediately, as well as several other people before and after me. The server, Ayanna, was fabulous. The food was ok. I think the ambience/atmosphere of being at a sophisticated restaurant is the most intriguing. Would I go back? Yes, but by it bring a high-end place my wallet says I'll return in moderation. I would love to take my mentees there just so they can see the possibility of a good life.

  We had a wonderful experience at Mitchell’s Fish Market celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary. The food was excellent—twin lobster tails, shrimp cocktail, spinach dip, and a steak for my wife. Everything was cooked perfectly. The service really stood out. Our waitress, Isabelle, was fantastic—kind, professional, and personable. She made us feel genuinely welcomed, and even congratulated us on our growing family when she noticed my wifes pregnancy belly. That little personal touch meant a lot. The staff overall was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was really nice. They even surprised us with a brownie sundae for our anniversary, which was a great way to finish the evening. We had a great night and would absolutely go back. Highly recommend Mitchell’s, and especially Isabelle—she was exceptional!

  I went to Mitchell’s yesterday (9-22-26) at 5:30pm. The entire experience was terrible. Mitchell’s was hosting an event & the hostess sat us directly in the middle of where the event guests had to register to attend the event. During our meal, guests and wait staff were continuously passing & bumping our table. I felt trays being carried over my head twice while food was being delivered to the room where the event was being held. Mitchell’s knew this event was being held & they also knew the location (within the restaurant) of the event. We never should have been sat at this particular table. There were numerous open tables when we were seated, yet we were seated in the middle of all the event traffic. Spoke with the manager Tony, which was a waste of time. All he said was he understood our complaint. Apparently he didn’t understand anything. Actually Tony was one of the staff who carried a tray over my head. I’ve been to this restaurant in the past, but never again because the service & food have definitely declined. The clam chowder soup was too watery & the oysters were not good. Not sure where Mitchell’s purchase their oysters but they need to find out where HAZEL’S in Birmingham order theirs because HAZEL’S oysters are 100% better.

  Mitchell’s food is always great. Unfortunately my recent visit was odd, I was waiting for a hidden camera crew to jump out. We arrived and were seated in the back directly at the table in front of their private dining room. All of the other tables and booths were empty. About 15 minutes into us receiving our meal and starting to eat people began coming in and walking between the tables while being checked into the room. A line then formed with about 15 people for about 4-5 minutes our chair was bumped a few times and our waitress was almost knocked over. The manager whom I later found out was Tony walked over our heads a few times with large trays of food instead of going around the tables like the other wait staff did. The waitress was very apologetic and asked Tony to come speak to us. He came over and said he “understood” a few times before walking off.

  First time here and food was pretty good. I’m a fan of fried seafood and this place hit the spot.
