  If I were to inform you, that a pizza buffet EXISTED, you would lose your mind. But it is true, and it is the best place ever. Not only do they have pizza, a Thanksgiving section, a salad bar, but they also have a manual ice cream machine, arcade section, and Cinniman roll pie.

  We've been to various Pizza Ranch outlets in Michigan and Missouri, but our experience in Kentwood on July 1 was terrible. My husband put in an order for a specific type of pizza for the buffet. He waited over 45 minutes to receive it after inquiring multiple times and had to have it boxed up because we had to be somewhere at a certain time. There was only one person doing both the cashier role and the front of the house jobs. As a result, the salad bar was a mess (I had to ask for lettuce as it was completely gone from its container) and other items were either low or looking too awful to eat. Additionally, there were tables left dirty with plates and other items left sitting on them. One table had a rag on it that apparently was for washing but was just sitting there for at least half an hour. All in all, this visit to the Kentwood Pizza Ranch was horrible! We were sorely disappointed as we live an hour away and have visiting this location multiple times with no issues. I doubt we'll ever go back again.

  We were in the mood for fried chicken and were definitely NOT disappointed. The staff was friendly and attentive (even though a bus full of people had pulled in right before us), and the manager even brought out a small bowl of pepperonis for my disabled grandson… just to make him smile!

  We ordered a GF pizza and being vegetarian my husband asked for a prairie pizza to be put on the buffet line as all the other n pizzas had meat. My pizza was to be a prairie pizza just GF. It took 40 min for my pizza to show up. When it did it has some kind of taco seasoning and only cheese. When I asked them to fix it, I told them they could just throw some vegetables on 6and I would be happy. The waiter said they had already made a fresh one and it was in the oven, we waited 15 min and he brought me out my pizza cold, the same as before with a few raw vegetables thrown on top. It had obviously not seen the oven again, and still had the odd taco sauce on it. The never provided a vegetarian pizza for my husband and the meal cost us $38.99.

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What in the world is Pizza Ranch’s secret?! I honestly don’t know how they continue to maintain this level of quality, service, and value in today’s economy, but I am impressed. Let’s start with the broasted chicken. It is absolutely incredible. Perfectly cooked all the way through, tender, juicy, and seasoned just right. I joked that I could sit there and eat nothing but the crispy skin! It was that good. The pizza was fresh with a nice crust, flavorful sauce, and plenty of variety. And then there was the surprise of the day… the watermelon salad! I wasn’t expecting it, but it was fresh, delicious, and a perfect addition to lunch. What stood out most was the service. Shawn, who I assume is the General Manager, was constantly checking on guests, asking if they enjoyed their meal, and making sure everyone had what they needed. He spoke kindly to his team, thanked them often, and treated them with respect. As customers, we notice those things. Leadership matters, and it shows. I also appreciated the uplifting Christian music playing in the restaurant. It created a welcoming atmosphere and added to the overall experience. Please don’t feel like you need to change that for anyone. The restaurant was clean, the buffet was well-stocked, and while the floor felt a little slippery in places, there were plenty of caution signs posted throughout the dining room. The only thing that made me laugh was finding every possible salad topping on the salad bar but no lettuce. Thankfully, the watermelon made up for it! Pizza Ranch is one of Kentwood’s best-kept secrets. Great food, friendly people, reasonable prices, and a team that clearly cares about their customers. I will definitely be back.
