The grape leaves were absolutely out of this world. The best we've ever had anywhere. They differed in being finger size wide, which means you got extra of the lemony grape leaf taste compared to fatter grape leaves. (We were so busy wolfing down the grape leaves that we forgot to take a picture until they were almost gone. We got about 10 originally) Of the three of us eating there, the doner was rated as okay, the kavurma was good, and the Ayasofya kofte was rated as excellent. The difference in the ratings was related to how much unique spices were included in the food, with the doner being the least spiced and the kofte being the most. I don't mean spicy but rather spiced with unique Turkish spices.

The food at Ayasofya is to die for. It has become a new favorite for us and it takes serious restraint not to order at least once a week. You can't go wrong here, but our favorites so far are the Gobit Doner and Iskandar Kabab. Everyone needs to try this place at least once. 10/10!

I wanted to love the food at this restaurant. Especially with the 4.7 rating, great reviews, and the pictures looked awesome. We went there on a Saturday at around 4:30 after kayaking in the area. We we're only the second people in the restaurant. Too ladies were behind the counter. The server helped us select a couple items. Maybe we didn't hit their prime time.. the phone wasn't ringing and like I said the restaurant was empty. The thinly size sliced beef "doner" with tomato sauce and side of yogurt sauce. Was tasty. The rice served with it was clumpy and tasteless. The cabbage rolls we had were okay. The other item we had had doner chicken and didn't taste too good. The food really didn't match the description or the pictures. Sadly it was a big miss for us.

The food was so incredible! We enjoyed every item we tried. The hot sand Turkish coffee and cold milk baklava were the best! I bought some more of the cold milk baklava to take home, to share amongst our family, because I have never had anything like it! The service was exceptional and we felt so welcomed at this restaurant. I would recommend coming here to anyone wanting to eat authentic Turkish food and enjoy good hospitality. Thank you for the great experience!

The place is rated a 4.7. This is a rough review to write. The husband and wife are great. The place is dead for dinner on a Friday night. Granted it is summer and the college not in session. Again, the owner is great. Friendly and attentive. All 4 saucer plates and some silverware are dirty. We wiped it all down and didn't say anything. The appetizer of stuffed grape leaves comes and everyone rated it a 3 out of 5 - just average. Pizza was rated 3.5 for overly greasy, fell apart, and basic in taste. I ordered Chicker Doner with Rice and gave it a 2 out of 5. The chicken was dry and almost jerky like. Overall it was bland and tough. Beef Doner with Rice was rated 3.5 and said it was fine. No further comment given. Gobit Doner was rated 3. The meat was good but the fries inside had a lot of black spots. They were "gross".The box to take the leftover pizza was used with grease and food inside. Overall, 1 out of 4 said they would return. I really hope this business is successful for the owners. It just was not for us.
