  MeXo was a decent place. Honestly, I feel like the price we paid was more so for the looks of the place (Fancier). Food was okay but not great, I had the red enchiladas and my wife had the fish tacos and ceviche. First, the enchiladas were dry and the sauce was bland. The sides of rice and cucumber salad were okay. The fish tacos were too spicy for my wife to eat but was not listed as spicy on menu. The tortillas they came with were white corn and tasted like they were microwaved. The ceviche was black in color (unusual) and had almost no shrimp in it and was mostly veggies. Service was okay as well but not really attentive to our table. Overall, we paid 100+ for food that was not the best. Coming to MeXo seems like we’re paying for the decor and name. I’d say try another place for better food.

  The restaurant just doesn’t look exciting when you walk in and the little candles on the table serve no purpose. The menu should be redone because all the dishes are in Spanish but with English descriptions which throws it off. The drinks were not very good nor worth the price. I asked for a chamoy rim and instead I got a bitter chili salt rim that was not sweet or anything like I expected. My margarita was strong, the tequila used in it was not very good. The flavor was lacking in some of the dishes. The shrimp was the best thing in the ceviche but there was more veggies than anything in my ceviche and it was hidden with the “black color” that was used in the dish so I could not tell that I was paying 20 dollars for mostly veggies. The fish tacos were way too spicy to even enjoy. The tortillas used are.white corn which are not as tasty as yellow corn tortillas. I would like to see this place make changes before we ever decide to visit again.

  We came here for a birthday and honestly left really disappointed. The service was all over the place. Our drinks came late, and our main courses came out while we were still eating our appetizers. The presentation of the food was also really poor, especially for a place at this price point. The staff was nice, but our server barely checked on us toward the end. We spent around $300, and unfortunately, the experience just wasn’t worth it. I don’t think we’ll be coming back.

  We were excited to try MeXo since they have a decent amount of vegetarian options. The server was really nice and the atmosphere was also really good. The food was tiny and expensive, which is fine if it's good food. But it was very under seasoned and essentially tasteless. My wife got the mushroom tacos- I'd bet my life savings that the 'local' mushrooms came from a can. I got the tamal stack- presentation was really good, smelled good, tasted like nothing and had an odd, not good mushy texture. The vegan Sopes app were pretty good though. Disappointing considering the lack of vegetarian options in the Midwest as a whole. 2 entrées and 1 app, zero cocktails and we're down over $65 dollars for one of the more mediocre meals I've ever had.

  Had a first time great experience. Even do they were closing 15m prior to our arrival they greeted us with care and hospitality. Our server Dalia went out of her way to make sure we felt at home. She gave great suggestions and her energy was great. I was visiting from out of town. But the next time I'm in Grand rapids I will request her as my server. Yet alone that, the sheff walked up and gave us a little introduction as to how his restaurant came to be so greatly appreciated. Can't wait to return.
