The older lady was so pleasant both times I had encounters with her, we laughed even because noticed me from earlier in the evening and I laughed and said, “Your food smelled so good in the car and I got to looking on your website and I just HAD to try this calzone! I am not a big fan of Calzones but theirs looked SO GOOD online and let me just say their club calzone is seriously AMAZINGLY GOOD!! Definitely will be back for more! Also the size of the thing is a meal for 2, and the price is honestly cheap compared to how much you can put into them and how fresh everything is!

The sides we got were the tater tots and Mac and cheese both really well made and just the way we like them. Sauces were the ranch and garlic parmesan which was sublime not too garlicy. The tenders were good size pieces with a nice batter and super juicy and TENDER. I had 2 peices and I got full before I even touched the bread stick. Which oh my bread sticks these were AMAZING. True bread sticks soft, nicely browned, and thick. Dad got the Club Calzone which filled the tray it came out on. Filled with chicken, bacon, ham, mozzarella cheese, lettuce, and tomatos. My dad couldn't eat the last bite it was some much food and tasted GREAT said he'd order that again. Great friendly service, awesome owner, nice atmosphere even though Alexa is hard of hearing. Would make this a stop when coming through Fenton.

We started off with their pizza and salad, but have come to love not only the pizza, but their calzone and the bread sticks are addictive. The surprising thing, I can't say I feel one way or another about chicken tenders, but I have come to love their fresh (not frozen) chicken tenders. My husband started buying a couple for him, and he quickly found he had to share with me - they are some of the best I've ever had (never dry). Over the years we've found that we'll come to love a restaurant, then the food becomes inconsistent, and after a few bad experiences, we stop dining their. As I said Hippos has yet to disappoint us. The owner (John) and employees are all beyond helpful and friendly. John cares about, not only his food, his restaurant, but his customers and the community. He sweats every detail when he prepares your order and it shows. They even serve Guernsey's ice cream (we indulged in Guernsey's for years when we lived in Northville) some of the best ice cream.
