I was excited to try this place after seeing it on TikTok and hearing great things about the food. My boyfriend and I decided to visit on Father’s Day, so I understood that it would be busy and there might be a wait. When we arrived, I asked the host about the wait time. Unfortunately, she came across as somewhat unfriendly and seemed to have an attitude. I didn’t let that bother me because I understand that busy days can be stressful. She told us the wait would be 45 minutes to an hour, and she took down my name and phone number. Before visiting, I had also tried calling several times to make a reservation, but I couldn’t get through because it seemed like the phone wasn’t being answered. After waiting more than an hour, I never received a call, text, or any update about our table. Being left waiting without any communication was very disappointing and felt unprofessional. If there was a longer wait than expected, a simple update would have been appreciated. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant. Businesses need to do better when it comes to customer service and communication, and management should hire employees who are willing to provide professional, courteous service to customers. 0/10. Very disappointing experience.

I went for brunch. The hostess had a nasty attitude when I asked how long the wait. The server did not know what types of liquor the bar had. They did not have fried green tomatoes. The crab cakes were decent. I ordered the NOLA platter. The fish was not cooked well at all. In fact it was undercooked. The shrimp were overcooked and rubbery. The fries would have been better if they were hot. For the amount of money spent plus an automatic 20% gratuity, I expected better. I am happy to support black owned businesses in the city of Detroit but black owned businesses need to do better. You have been warned. Go at your own risk.

My husband and I just went here to celebrate our anniversary, and I must say it was fantastic customer service from beginning to end! As soon as we were seated at the bar , the bar tender( I apologize I didn't get your name) was very attentive. He was busy with drink orders and still took time to give food recommendations and give welcoming conversation. That masterpiece of a lemonade was DELICIOUS!!! My husband says it was the most balanced lemonade he's had.. So good! Our waiter Norris was just as attentive and personable. He checked on us frequently to make sure we needed for nothing and our food was to our liking. The food was DELICIOUS! We had veggie omelet, bourbon Street omelet, pancakes, house potatoes, beignets, and cheese grits. If you like seafood , try the bourbon street omelet. We would definitely recommend! Great vibe and atmosphere, we were jamming the whole time. It's a great time! Thank you again everyone we had a lovely experience! Shout out to homegirl who photo bombed our picture🤗

At first I was apprehensive driving 30 mins from West Bloomfield to downtown Detroit for brunch. I would say the sweet cream pancakes and fried green tomatoes made it worth it but what really won me over was the incredible customer service I got from Ms Tanya (the manager) and Laiya (my server) . They went above and beyond to ensure my visit was five star. The potatoes, chicken, pancakes and fried green tomatoes were all cooked to perfection. Very seldom do I leave a restaurant looking forward to coming back. I’m glad I made the trip..

Our experience at Sugah Please was amazing! The service was attentive and friendly. We took a long time to order, but the waiter was patient. The food was delicious at every turn. Let’s start with the PANCAKES. It’s not easy to find a pancake like this. Thin enough to have a slight crunch and buttery taste in every bite. Yet, fluffy enough to make it feel just right. A + pancakes!! The meaty omelette was filling and full of flavor and cheese. The garlic flavor was present but not overpowering. This was a solid A! The atmosphere at Sugah Please was pleasant and purposeful. The extended long window views are available in most spots at the restaurant. You can see the bustle of the City streets and the beauty beyond. I recommend deem Sugah Please as a “Must Go” restaurant for Breakfast/Lunch/Brunch Spot! How did I not know about this place before!? We’ll be back.
