This was one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I’ve had in Detroit.
Before ordering, I specifically asked TWICE whether my breakfast sandwich could be made with scrambled eggs instead of the standard preparation. The employee, a white gentleman with colorful hair, looked me in the eye and said “Yes.” Based on that answer, I placed my order. Had I been told the truth, that scrambled eggs were not an option, I would have ordered something completely different.
When my food came out, it wasn’t what I had requested. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, I was offered 50 cents as compensation. Fifty cents doesn’t fix poor communication, wasted money, or a ruined meal. It came across as dismissive and insulting rather than an attempt to make things right.
Even more concerning was the condition of the restaurant itself. While I was there, a homeless man was at the storefront outside digging in his butt, touching items throughout the customer area, drinking from the creamer, and causing it to splatter around. Watching this unfold without what I felt was an adequate response (actually NO RESPONSE) made the environment highly unsanitary and uncomfortable.
Between the inaccurate information before ordering, the poor attempt at resolving the issue, and what I personally witnessed regarding cleanliness, I left extremely dissatisfied.
My experience was highly unsatisfactory, highly unsanitary, and highly unprofessional.
I won’t be returning, and based on my experience, I cannot recommend spending your money here. There are plenty of other breakfast spots in Detroit that value honest customer service, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction.
