Had a young woman refuse me service this morning because I told her she didn't have to be so rude to me. I go to this location approximately 2 times a week or more since they opened a couple years ago, and usually don't have any issues except with this one employee. I never say anything, but whenever she is there she is rude and acts like taking my order is an inconvenience to her entire day. Usually I go through the drive thru and am pleasant and the staff is pleasant. With this woman though, it's never a good experience. Today, I was placing my order and I couldn't hear something she said back to me, so I said 'I'm sorry, I couldn't hear that' two different times...the third time I said 'I'm so sorry, I still couldn't understand you.' And I kinda laughed about it, because I am partially deaf in one ear and I don't hear certain pitches very well, so I'm used to having to ask people to repeat themselves. Most take it very well, but this young lady instantly threw and attitude and started spoke very loudly and enunciated each word in a biting tone as if I were special needs. I didn't say anything about it at first, but then I said 'okay, hold on just a sec.' And turned to talk to the 7 yr old in the car with me to get her order...the woman said 'i asked if that's going to be it??' So I turned back around because I'm trying to do two things at once and said 'no, I just said to hold on a minute.' And then i said 'you know, you don't have to be so rude.' She instantly started ramping up her attitude and said 'are you talking to me??' I said 'yes, I am. You've been rude this entire time.' I turned back to the kiddo, and was trying to get the order, and this woman is now full on trying to continue arguing with me. I literally said 'shush. Let me finish.' And I turned around to give the rest of the order. She immediately said 'I'm sorry, I can no longer serve you.' So I said 'okay, then let me speak to a manager.' She tried to tell me she is the manager, which i highly doubt. If she is, I feel bad for your business. She was rude and I called her on it. I didn't scream, I didnt call her names or swear...yet she had the audacity to talk to me like I was stupid and a waste of her time. How you present yourself and how you talk to customers in any retail or food business says a lot. Again, this is not the first time she has been rude, I just didn't say anything previously. How is it that i can go through there as often as I do and have no issues, except with this one individual? I've even had fun little conversations with different employees at the drive thru there, because i'm generally a pretty happy person. But if you treat me like that I will absolutely speak up. And I know it's the same person because when I drove around I saw who it was at the window. You absolutely don't have to be yelling or saying nasty things to me to come across less than pleasant. And she never is. If she actually is this locations manager, then yikes. Idk why you'd want someone like that dealing with customers. I've worked retail before, and my managers would have been appalled if I acted like that. So we went over across the street to Starbucks and got drinks and food with zero incident. The barista there was friendly and welcoming, the complete opposite of the young woman at dunkin. Do better.
