  I recently visited RH Rooftop Restaurant, and while the space itself is absolutely beautiful, the overall experience didn’t live up to the prices. The food was one of my biggest disappointments. The steak was literally about four pieces served with fries, and the lamb chops were very petite. Both were $54, and in my opinion, neither portion or dish was worth that price. The drinks were good, but at around $20 each, they also add up quickly. The atmosphere is beautiful, but the music was extremely loud, to the point where you almost had to yell to have a conversation with the people at your own table. What really bothered me was that the manager Eddie came over and told us that our table was too loud, even though the entire restaurant was loud and everyone was talking over the music. If you're playing loud dance music throughout the restaurant, it's unrealistic to expect people to have quiet conversations. We definitely felt singled out, which made the experience even more uncomfortable. Overall, you're paying a premium for the location and atmosphere, but I didn't feel the food, portions, or experience justified the prices. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return.

  Dinner | $50–60 Don’t come here if you want to have a good time. The manager Eddie lied and said that we were too loud and people complained but the table next to us was also having a good time and just as “loud” as us. The difference was that the table next to us was white and we were a mixed crowd. We were not being loud and it’s unfortunate that we were the table that was reminded to lower our voice. It’s my birthday and I will not come back here again. I understand it’s Birmingham but it’s also 2026. Our waiter said we were not being loud and I appreciated his service. Eddie was horrible and the company should reevaluate his position. This is also the second time I’ve been here and both times they were out of alcohol, wine the first time and Mezcal the second,

  Omg, so I’m awaiting the arrival of friends and went to the barista bar to order a martini. One guy was busy making drinks and barely acknowledged me. Another showed up to work the register and never even looked at me. Eventually I asked him if anyone was going to help me. He said oh, I thought you had been helped. Standing there for 5+ minutes - no one else at the bar. These guys need to be schooled in bartending etiquette. At our table, a waiter was in training but our waitress did not bother to introduce him as such as if he were her unwanted appendage. The food? Small, lackluster portions for such big prices. The lobster salad was about 16 cut up pieces of lobster on a bed of butter lettuce and a few chunks of avocado. Butter lettuce was unwieldy to cut at best. They gave us two cookies with a side of ice cream for a birthday. I certainly have a baker they can call for truly remarkable cookies, as these were not it. In conclusion, RH has the ambience and the novelty factor, but as witnessed tonight, much of the clientele is here for the latter, not for the cuisine and top-notch service.

  I’ve come here for dinner once and it was incredible! Food was great, service was great. I tried weekend brunch for the first time and it felt underwhelming! As you can see the mimosas clearly have way too much orange juice (esp for the price!) and the American breakfast was disappointing. I ordered scrambled eggs and they came way too runny, felt more soupy. The bacon was charred which I do prefer but actually was too soggy. And the potatoes were great and crispy but very bland, it needed a side of aioli or something. I will probably only return for dinner. I will say I was surprised they had high chairs which was great! The ambiance is very much no kids but that felt like a nice gesture to make it more inclusive for families.

  We came to RH Detroit for our anniversary dinner, and honestly, we expected the building, ambiance, and location to be the highlight of the evening. The place looks incredible in photos, and that was a big reason we wanted to visit. But we were pleasantly surprised to discover that the food is just as amazing as the setting. I really don’t think people talk about the food here enough! We started with the bread, and this was a huge hit with my son, who is an extremely picky eater and rarely eats anything when we go out. He absolutely loved the bread and ended up eating all of it! That alone was impressive. 😂 I had the Aperol Spritz, which was delicious, and we also tried the Cucumber Mojito, which was incredibly refreshing and tasty. The Toro Carpaccio with caviar was another standout. It was beautifully presented and full of flavor. We also ordered the Parisian Petit Potatoes, which were fantastic. Honestly, all the potato dishes we tried were surprisingly delicious and definitely worth ordering. Then came the Wagyu ribeye, which was the showstopper of the meal. It was incredibly tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. My wife ordered the half rotisserie chicken, which was a really good portion and cooked beautifully. And we couldn’t finish without trying the house-made cookies. The chocolate chip cookie was AMAZING. There was so much chocolate, and it was melted and gooey. Definitely one of those desserts you keep thinking about afterward! Our waitress, Desiree, was wonderful. She took excellent care of us throughout the evening and made the experience even better. And of course, the restaurant itself is spectacular. The chandeliers, mirrors, layers of beautiful décor, and overall design make it feel like a photo shoot paradise. We sat underneath a chandelier, and there are so many incredible spots for pictures that it honestly feels like an Instagram paradise. Everyone there was also so helpful in taking photos for us, and they turned out great. Even the bathrooms were impressive! 😂 I’m honestly surprised to see RH Detroit with ratings in the 4-point-something range. Considering the food, service, ambiance, architecture, location, and overall experience, I would personally give it a 4.9/5 or even a 5/5. It was absolutely worth it, and we had such a memorable anniversary dinner. I’m already planning to come back for my birthday in a couple of months. RH Detroit, we will definitely be back! ❤️
