We had an outstanding experience at the Gandy Dancer in Ann Arbor. The beautifully restored historic train station creates an atmosphere unlike any other restaurant we have visited. It feels elegant and perfect for a special occasion while still being warm, comfortable, and welcoming.
Our table ordered the slow roasted prime rib, shrimp pasta, mahi mahi, and the Seafood Trio. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and beautifully presented. The prime rib was incredibly tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The whipped potatoes were creamy, and the au jus and horseradish sauce complemented the meat perfectly.
The seafood dishes were equally impressive. The mahi mahi was fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. The Seafood Trio included salmon, shrimp, and a crab cake, along with rice and asparagus. Every part of the dish was excellent. The shrimp were plump and flavorful, the salmon was moist, and the crab cake was delicious. The portions were generous, and you could tell that real care went into every plate. Everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed their meal.
The service was exceptional from beginning to end. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. The restaurant was spotless, the table was beautifully prepared, and the entire staff made us feel genuinely welcome.
Between the incredible food, excellent service, cleanliness, beautiful presentation, and one of a kind historic atmosphere, the Gandy Dancer delivered a true five star dining experience. This is easily one of the best restaurants we have visited in Ann Arbor, and we will absolutely be returning. Highly recommended for a date night, family dinner, celebration, or any special occasion.
