  Not sure how to describe the absolute awesome service, food, and atmosphere of Gandy Dancer. We were greeted by a very professional young man running vale, prompt and moving. As we entered the restaurant we hit the bar and met John who was ready to serve, explain some restaurant history, etc. He also helped us decide on our menu items. After a short wait we were seated with a view of the tracks where we met Bill, pur waiter. We were both enthralled by the amount of knowledge, professionalism and more. This is a true professional waiter. Now the food. The sea bass was cooked perfectly. I'm very happy we got the sauce on the side, while it was also excellent the sea bass alone was buttery, flakey and delicious. I also had the trio, and the same compliments follow. We will certainly be returning.

  Very small portions for the price. Vegetables were not fresh, bread was small and not fresh. This is not a place I would recommend. Gandy Dancer prior to Covid does not exist. The valet stated business is down. Landry Group needs to sell or close.

  SHOCKED that this is considered a fine dining establishment!!! First visit on Mother's Day, WILL NOT return! What fine dining establishment serves INSTANT POTATOES?? Dry, NO seasoning!! The rice pilaf came out of a box too!! Bagged salads with NO dressing OR toppings!! I have had better food from gas stations! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

  If I could give 0 stars I would have! I am highly disappointed with the dining experience I had the day before Mother’s Day. I invited 6 people to Gandy Dancer due to me bragging about their service and food. The service was AWFUL. We never got the drinks we ordered and our waiter acted as if we were a burden. We asked for bread maybe 3x. After being seated 30mins we finally received bread. My meal was awful but due to numerous complaints and 2 wrong entrees. I was very embarrassed so I didn’t complain. We all drove over an hour away to experience this disaster of a dinner. The potatoes and sides were all cold. Multiple steaks cooked incorrectly. The potatoes were also not their usual potatoes they tasted instant no red skins etc. Our Mother’s Day dinner was ruined and I had to get a To-go from another restaurant. Highly upset.

  The Gandy Dancer was a place I really wanted to love, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. The quality of the food simply doesn’t match the price point, which made the overall experience feel underwhelming. That said, the service was exceptional, easily some of the best I’ve had in a long time. The staff was attentive, patient, and struck the perfect balance by being present without constantly interrupting, which made the dining experience far more enjoyable.
