Subject: Food Safety Complaint and Request for Refund Due to Double Charge
Dear Customer Relations Representative,
I am writing to report a serious food quality issue and a subsequent customer service problem that occurred at the McDonald’s restaurant in Rockland, Maine.
On May 28, 2026, at approximately 6:15 p.m., I purchased food from your Rockland location. While eating my cheeseburger, I discovered a date-coded sticker inside the burger. Finding a foreign object in my food was extremely concerning and unacceptable from a food safety standpoint.
After bringing the matter to the attention of restaurant staff, (I brought the half eaten burger with the date coded sticker in the wrapper to the restaurant manager) I was informed that I would receive a full refund. However, when I checked credit card online she failed to apply credit, the and instead charged me again. As a result, I was charged $15.23 twice.
I am requesting reimbursement for the duplicate charge as well as appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and concern caused by finding a date-coded sticker inside my food. I also ask that this incident be reviewed to ensure proper food preparation and quality control procedures are being followed at this location.
I was not given receipts and unable to provide a copy of that, however can provide additional information if needed, such as screen shot of the online charges to my card. I would appreciate a prompt response and resolution to this matter.
Thank you for your attention to this issue. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Jenn Hernandez
