  Expensive. Beautiful setting. Request a able with an ocean view. Restaurant is about 10 minute drive up the coast from Kennybunkport. Reservations are a must.

  The views were excellent, and the staff that assisted with reservations and planning a surprise request ahead of time were incredible (Thank you Helly!) We wanted to make it a special night, which was a 3-course meal for each of us, a few drinks, and lobster + caviar upgrades. Most of the items we ordered were very good, and excellent presentation on everything as well. Unfortunately, we were quite let down with a few of the options we chose. The mushroom soup was a very small portion of liquid, with a few small pieces of mushroom. It might have been great over a steak, but not as one of three courses. The lobster was arranged beautifully, but was quite small and tough compared to lobster we’ve had at other restaurants recently. The biggest letdown was the pork belly. It was so incredibly tough I had to bring it up to the server. I’ve had different preparations of pork belly, but I’ve never had one so tough that it required a steak knife to carve into. The server brought it back to speak with the chef and returned to tell us essentially “That’s the way it’s supposed be”. I could tell the server was excellent, but was having difficulty finding the right things to say when she came back, so I assume the chef was being obstinate. We each had a very small bite which we quite literally had to carve off the side of the cube, and they didn’t offer anything to make it right, just vague explanations about why we were wrong about pork belly and it actually should be like chewing on the heel of your boot. To boot (hah!), we were informed that the pork belly was brand new to the menu, and we were one of the first customers to try it. Incredibly odd that they still found nothing wrong with it, and offered nothing to make it better for us when spending $500 on dinner for two.

  A fine dining experience with great costal views. Everything was exactly what you'd hope for. Highly recommend the wine pairing.

  Oceans was a big disappointment. We selected the 3-course menu with wine pairing. The tuna crudo had inedible sinew running through each piece of tuna—on both of our plates. The chef should not have served it. The second course was a trio of sea scallops with a chorizo jam. In my opinion, the dish was out of balance. The chorizo jam overpowered the scallops. The lamb chops were small, and nearly 1/2 of each chop was fat. It was a second dish with inferior quality ingredients. The cod was fine. The wine pairings were unusual in a good way, but $20 for each 1/2 glass seems overly expensive. The setting is lovely and the service was perfect. Go for a drink but not for the food.

  We've been here once before where we had a wonderful meal and amazing experience. As a result, we decided to dine here again over Labor Day weekend to celebrate our anniversary. I contacted the restaurant twice - via the Opentable app and by leaving a voicemail with the restaurant - to express that we'd like a table by the window for our meal. No one responded to me, no one acknowledged anything during the meal. To be honest, I don't care about the special occasion acknowledgement, but I'm bothered on principle - this is a very expensive restaurant that should have better customer focus/service. Additionally, food did not blow us away this time around - some dishes were lovely, others missed the mark. The setting is beautiful and our waitress was very kind, but we won't be returning for a meal anytime soon.
