  I always enjoy adventuring into a Shaws because they have a different setup than hannahford. Sometimes I can find vegetables that I can't find at my hannaford, which is all I have locally. I like to go here when I come to the big city. ;)

  Excellent shop. Great variety of produce, ready-meals, and items that are difficult to find elsewhere. Great product depth as well. They have it all!

  I've been a longtime customer of Shaw's in Falmouth, but I'm extremely disappointed with some of the recent changes at this store. The pricing accuracy has become absolutely abysmal. Today, I went in and saw pizzas advertised for $3.99, only to find that they rang up at $5.99 at the register. Unfortunately, this is far from an isolated incident. Old sale tags are routinely left up, clearance items don't ring up at the correct prices, and merchandise in the back clearance section is often not marked properly. The new orange-tag markdown system being used for meat and bakery products is another major problem. The discounted price displayed on the package frequently does not match what you're charged at checkout. I've personally caught this happening numerous times. I've even considered filing a formal complaint with the Maine Attorney General's Office regarding the pricing discrepancies associated with this new system. Beyond the pricing issues, the orange tags themselves are extremely difficult to spot against some of the product packaging. The previous purple sticker system was much more noticeable and made it far easier to identify clearance items and their discounted prices. I'm not sure why the store moved away from a system that was so much clearer for customers. Customers should not have to scrutinize every single item at the register just to make sure they're being charged the advertised price. To make matters worse, Shaw's prices are already extremely high compared to other local grocery chains. When you compare the prices of individual items, some of the differences are honestly shocking. After years of shopping here, I've finally decided to take my business elsewhere and return to another local grocery chain. It's disappointing to reach this point, but I no longer feel confident that I'm being charged the correct prices. **My advice to anyone shopping at this location: Pay very close attention to the shelf tags, clearance stickers, and prices at checkout. Don't assume the price you see is the price you'll actually pay.**
