Not all Hannaford are created equal. There’s smaller, independently owned but stocked by Hannaford, stores and larger Hannaford franchise stores, all of which differ greatly depending on the area. For example, the Blue Hill store has a vastly larger selection of healthy, organic and locally accessed offerings than, say, the Bucksport store. Personally, I prefer the Ellsworth store or the Bangor store at the Airport Mall…..these being just 2 of the several Hannaford’s within a 25 mile radius of my home in Bucksport. I find the meats at all Hannaford stores to be far better quality than Walmart or Shaws. Also, their produce is usually of good quality. However, if you’re after a larger variety of eating options, you’ll probably prefer one of the larger chains….Wally World or Shaws. But I definitely recommend getting your meats, especially burger and pork, from Hannaford.

First time visiting. Unfortunate that there was very little fresh hot food available during dinner er time (around 5pm).

They need to hire cashiers, and stop assuming that anyone is happy checking out at the "you do the supermarket's job for them" aisle, where robots accuse you of theft and the poor few human employees have to repeatedly override the errant robotic determination. It's dystopian, and turns a pleasant shopping trip into a reminder that everything is getting worse.
