  I am 64 years old, and I shopped at this store with my 74 year old partner. We bought a bottle of wine and a bottle of ZQuil among other things. The young man who cashed us out said he needed to see an ID in order to sell the wine and the ZQuil. We didn't bring our IDs into the store because we were paying cash, and we've never been carded for liquor at a grocery store before. The manager confirmed that she could not sell us alcohol without seeing an ID. So my 74 YEAR OLD partner had to go out to the car for his wallet. They suspended our order until he came back. In the meantime, the manager had a different cashier hop on the line right next to us, so that she could finish our order when he got back. So he got in line and showed his ID and she just glanced at it and said, okay. She didn't scan it, and she didn't type any numbers or birthdays into the system. THEY BASICALLY MADE HIM GO GET HIS ID FOR NOTHING! I COULD SEE IF THE STORE HAD A POLICY WHERE THEY HAD TO SCAN CERTAIN THINGS INTO THE SYSTEM, IN ORDER TO SELL ALCOHOL OR CERTAIN MEDICATION. That is not what happened in this situation, and we will not go back to that store.

  Nothing wrong with the store but they need to get their act together with online orders, especially delivery, or just stop offering the service. It's always something. Today my order was delivered to the wrong door because the driver didn't read the instructions. Chatbot was completely useless. Person on the phone was very nice but couldn't help because delivery goes through a 3rd party. So, no way to get the driver back to help me or correct the issue. That system is beyond stupid. I had to carry each bag all the way back to my own house to keep things from defrosting - three trips with heavy bags. For context, I live alone, am in my 60s, and am partially disabled. There's a reason I order delivery. Last straw, Shaw's. I'm done.

  Good for specials and variety . I like the store, but am used to Hannaford as it's close by for me...

  Customer service apparently is an open for people who work 9 to 5. it doesn't open till 8:00 and it was closed by 3:00

  Twice I had something go wrong and wasn’t asked if the items could be replaced. This past week, I had 6 items missing, and wasn’t asked if I still wanted them but said a refund was coming. I haven’t had very good luck with Shaw’s.
