  A little while ago, I was at the store about 10 minutes after opening and witnessed something that was both deceptive and disgusting. An employee in the bakery department was removing pre-packaged six-count bagels (the ones already sealed, labeled, and priced for sale) and placing those same bagels back into the fresh bakery display. Those packaged six-count bagels are the leftover fresh bagels that didn't sell and were packaged for sale. They are not that morning's fresh bake. Putting them back into the fresh display misleads customers into thinking they're buying freshly baked bagels when they're not. What made it even worse was the hygiene. Those packaged bagels had already been out on the sales floor where customers had likely picked them up, handled them, and put them back. The employee was touching those germ-covered plastic bags and then removing the bagels to place them into the fresh display. That's unsanitary and completely unacceptable. Customers pay a premium because they believe they're buying fresh bakery items. Recycling previously packaged leftovers back into the fresh case is deceptive and destroys trust. I recorded the interaction because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I'm sure management will try to explain it away, but customers deserve to know what they're actually buying.

  RUDE. Woman in yellow vest and big hair was extremely rude and would not even stop to answer any questions. Everyone there has a horrible attitude. Who hurt them? They need therapy. Horrible people working here. The whole safeway franchise seems to be a horrible company. Why dont they pay close attention to better their staff. You will see many messages here saying they have reported your complaint to the team but that is A HUGE LIE. They dont care about customer complaints or quality. If they cared we would see actual change.

  Safeway at 11201 Georgia Ave in Wheaton, MD is my go-to grocery store and consistently delivers an outstanding shopping experience! The store is always clean, well-stocked, and the staff is friendly and helpful. What keeps me coming back is the exceptional quality of the 80/20 ground beef—it's always fresh, flavorful, and perfect for burgers, meatballs, tacos, or chili. The pricing is excellent, especially when it's on sale, making it one of the best values around. I'd also like to recognize the young man working the checkout lane during my visit. He was courteous, fast, and very efficient, making checkout quick and hassle-free. The bakery is excellent, the produce is fresh, and there's plenty of convenient parking.   This Safeway is conveniently located across the street from the Wheaton Metro station. Their selection is good and their produce is fresh. We liked it better when it used to be open 24 Hours.

  Me párese un muy buen supermercado encontró casi todo lo que me gusta y la verdad lo único malo es el parqueo pues es muy pequeño y la verdad se pueden dañar mi carro o el de los demás asi que aparte de eso excelente producto y siempre encuentro lo que busco.
