    Employees spend all their time in raucous horseplay. Meanwhile only two checkouts open even on weekend mornings and people with full carts can't checkout. You're herded into self-checkout and it's a high pressure environment. What a racket they're running! Not to mention aggressive panhandlers stationed right in your face at the entrance. Oh, and only one entrance/exit open due to shoplifting. They need stronger management or a new retail tenant there, it's just exploitation. Very high volume store but out of control. Put the guys who party all day on the registers, please!

    I’m very disappointed with my recent experiences at Giant Food White Oak. On two separate visits, I asked employees for help finding items and was told they were not available. Both times, I later found the items myself. Most recently, I asked for balloons, and the employee immediately said they were out of stock without checking. I went to look on my own and found one. This is frustrating and gives the impression that employees are not taking the time to properly assist customers. Customers should be able to trust the information they receive from staff. At the very least, employees should verify before saying something is unavailable. Providing staff with proper tools or training to check inventory and item locations would greatly improve the customer experience. This level of service at the White Oak location is disappointing, and I hope it is addressed.

    On this Monday, I purchased meat from this Giant location. Within about 10 minutes of arriving home, I noticed the meat had a very strong, rotten odor. It was clearly spoiled. I immediately returned to the store. An employee named Kyle told me they were not issuing refunds that day. I insisted, and a manager eventually came and processed the refund. However, what is concerning is that after the refund, I walked back to the meat section to check whether the spoiled product had been removed. It had not. The same meat was still on display for customers, despite the clear smell and condition. Additionally, during the refund process, staff issued the refund to a store card and made comments suggesting it was just so I could buy more meat, which felt dismissive given this was a food safety issue. I have sent a follow-up email to Consumer Affairs. If other customers experienced similar issues with spoiled meat from this store, I encourage them to come forward. I have also alerted neighbors in the community. Food safety should be treated seriously, and spoiled meat should never remain available for sale. If you want, I can also make a shorter Google review version or a more legal/complaint-style version.
