  I am floored—in the best way—by the staff at this location. I usually only stop in to pick up my pharmacy meds, but today I decided to do some shopping. I was greeted by at least two associates while I was shopping, which really stood out to me. There was an error with my rewards account that needed correcting, and Ms. Anastasia provided outstanding customer service in helping me get my points. I also appreciated the clean, well-stocked shelves. The produce and florals looked fresh to me. 10/10

  I had an extremely frustrating experience at Giant Food Stores today. My transaction was not going through, even though the money was being deducted from my card. I was told to simply wait a few minutes to see whether the transaction would eventually post. I waited approximately 15 minutes while also trying to get someone’s attention to find out what the next steps would be. Unfortunately, I was not given any real assistance. At that point, I decided to leave rather than continue waiting without any clear resolution. As soon as I attempted to leave, THREE employees suddenly wanted to follow me out and tell me that I could not leave and that I needed to wait. My frustration is that if someone had simply taken the time to assist me properly in the beginning, this entire situation could have been avoided. What made the situation even worse was my interaction with an employee named Ruon Perry. His customer service was extremely rude and unprofessional. I simply requested a voided receipt or some type of documentation showing that the transaction had been voided. I was repeatedly told that there was no receipt because the transaction “didn’t happen.” However, Ron was ultimately able to print a voided copy after speaking with his manager, who gave him approval to provide it. That was especially frustrating because if the store is able to keep documentation of the transaction for its own records, I don’t understand why I should not be able to receive documentation for my own records—especially when money had already been deducted from my account. I have worked in customer service myself, so I understand that transactions can have technical issues and that employees sometimes have to follow certain procedures. What I do expect, however, is professionalism, communication, and basic courtesy. Unfortunately, I did not receive that today. The entire situation could have been handled much more efficiently and respectfully. I hope management addresses the way this situation was handled, particularly the customer service I received from Ruon Perry.
