The staff was chill and even was kind before I donated to the cause. Overall, a solid place

This place is so good , the workers are so welcoming and joyful every time time I go I never get disappointed specially this small lady I think her name is jacqui she is really kind you will always find her with a smile on her face and she would constantly ask you if your ok or if you need help deciding what you want or she will answer your questions I found her really helpful, we would definitely be coming back !
Really disappointed with the service here. Me and my friends were polite the entire time, but the employee helping us was rude and honestly came off aggressive for no reason.
I accidentally ordered the wrong item. I meant to get a smoothie but realized after it was made that I had ordered a bowl instead. As soon as I noticed, I apologized multiple times and politely asked if I could pay the difference to have it remade as a smoothie. The employee immediately rolled her eyes at me.
When she finally made the smoothie, she basically shoved/threw it onto the counter at me with an attitude. Even the people I was with were shocked by how she acted.
What really bothered me is that it made us wonder if we would’ve been treated the same way if we were a different ethnic group. We were respectful from the start and still got horrible customer service.
The sad part is I go to other Tropical Smoothie locations pretty often and have never been treated like this before.
I ordered two chipotle chicken rolls and a smoothie online. When I arrived, my order was ready and waiting in the online orders pick-up area. I opened the bag to double check my order and when I did, I noticed two flat wraps in my bag. Thinking that the individual had given me the wrong food items, I said something to the young lady behind the counter. She proceeded to tell me that yes these are the rolls that I’d ordered, even though they were flat like crêpes. I explained to her that I ordered two rolls and that these items were flat just in case she mistakenly gave me someone else’s order. She proceeded to tell me that no these were the rolls and that they are fine and correct. Her coworker came out and told her that they were not well cooked, so the young lady proceeds to remake the order, then her colleague had to her show her how to roll the items correctly. After the employee puts the rolls into the oven to bake, she takes the rolls out of the oven. The other young lady who showed her how to roll it properly, comes over to check that it’s well cooked, by tapping on my food with her bare fingers, then goes back into the kitchen. I quickly said something to the store employee. I said why did the lady just touch my food with her hands. She told me no she didn’t. I said I saw her with my own eyes. The employee called the lady back out and told her in Spanish, “ she said that you touched her food”. The employee then tries to put on gloves. At that point in time, I told her you just touched my food with your bare hands and she said oh, well my hands were clean. I said it doesn’t matter if your hands are clean you’re not supposed to touch people‘s food without gloves on. I asked for a refund and she gave me back $7.00 (honestly, she shortchanged me…the 2 wraps were $7.49 before tax) . But honestly, I’m not even sure if I should trust that the smoothie was handled properly either. This was unsanitary, unhygienic, unprofessional, and a truly displeasing experience. I lost time and (albeit a little bit) money today. I’m so disappointed.
