  I have had numerous terrible customer service experiences at this Safeway. About six months ago, There was a price discrepancy that I was able to prove per the app. The cashier saw and agreed. She called the manager, an elderly lady who treated both the employee and I absolutely horribly. I apologized to the cashier for the way that the manager spoke to her, and the cashier told me that she talks to her like that all the time. Such a shame. Since then, I only come in here and there and instead I drive to the Benfield Road store, even though this Safeway is five minutes from my home. The few times that I have been in there lately I have been approached by the foreign lady manager, I’m sorry I don’t know her name, and treated like I was trying to steal something even though I’m clearly not and have my Special needs son with me every time I come in. Both times I have had to look up a produce item because there was not a tag on it. Last time, a green pepper and this time a watermelon. The way she spoke to me “about making sure I scan the item and not look it up” was atrocious. Little did she know there was no tag for me to scan. This was two different occasions that she treated me this way. The first time she literally screamed at me “what are you trying to look up. You shouldn’t be looking anything up you should be scanning it.” Excuse me? I am not a child. I am 43 years old.A few years ago, I had an incident with her over a bag of chips because she didn’t want to admit that she was in the wrong when it was plain as day and clear what the price was. Maybe this review is all over the place because maybe I should’ve waited until I calmed down to write it, but she cannot keep treating customers the way that she does. I think from now on, I will continue driving to the Benfield Safeway.

  Safeway I’m extremely disappointed with how my family was treated at this Safeway location. Mike, the general manager, was rude, impatient, and completely lacking in compassion toward my autistic son. Instead of showing basic understanding for a child with special needs, he made the situation worse and made us feel unwelcome in the store. His behavior was unprofessional, insensitive, and unacceptable for someone in a management position. We ultimately left because of how he treated us. No family should ever be made to feel pushed out because their child has autism. Safeway needs to seriously address how this manager interacts with customers.

  I can’t stand this place anymore. Completely unnecessary to be hounded in the self check out every single visit. Please disable the option to key in produce codes if it’s an issue for customers to do so. The employees breathe down your neck about it. My produce wouldn’t scan and it was still an issue to key it in.

  Eventually, it became highly apparent that this grocery store's employees regularly complain internally about customers. I've worked at two other grocery stores and was completely unfamiliar with the apparent targeting and watching that this store seems to engage in. Unfortunately, it took years to detect that it was probably not just one or two abnormal employees. The second star is there nonetheless though, because imo things could've been enough worse that I guess it barely earns that second star. Good luck to all customers who enter.
