- BBBenJun 29, 20261.0I’ve been shopping here for roughly four years, mainly because of proximity to home. It is… fine. The store as is could be 2-3 stars. But there’s a cool new thing they’re doing now - treating all of their customers as criminals as soon as they walk in the door. I wonder how much money they spent on gates rather than fixing broken self checkout machines. Why are they building barricades? Do they think there’s an eminent invasion? The Safeway in Charles Village had basically no security at all. I fail to understand why this Safeway is being so fortified while the store dilapidates and refuses to fix anything. Speaking of cool new things, the older woman with glasses and brownish hair who guards the self checkout like a dragon guarding its horde makes me *so* unbelievably uncomfortable. She stands so close I swear I can hear her breathing. She also doesn’t speak, just stands there being bizarrely suspicious. I’m sick of it, but I know this review will accomplish nothing because they likely have very little staff who get paid poorly and have to listen to awful music all day. I feel for those people, but not this lady, she really needs a vacation or something. Maybe afterwards she can try something more in line with her skillset, like the tsa. I know I can’t be the only one who has experienced this. Somehow it’s usually me she’s fixated on, so maybe she’s discriminating based on the fact that I’m younger and have tattoos? I just don’t understand but that’s the end of my rant. I just want to shop in peace without someone hovering behind me, that’s all.
