We tried Bombay Street at National Harbor and overall had a great experience. We ordered the palak chaat, chole customized for our dietary restrictions, dal tadka with rice, and paneer tikka. The food was genuinely delicious. The paneer tikka was a little too pricey, especially considering it was only four pieces, but everything else was excellent. The ambiance is one of the highlights. The interiors are beautiful and give you a very traditional, vibrant Indian vibe. Definitely a fun place to dine and the atmosphere feels lively. The staff was just outstanding. They checked in so many times. A couple of significant downsides for families, though: • An 18% service charge was added to the bill. • They did not have high chairs with proper harnesses for younger children. If you have a baby or toddler who cannot safely sit independently in a standard high chair, this can make dining pretty difficult. Our little one basically went hungry because she was too busy moving around and couldn’t sit securely. And one thing that genuinely made me laugh: chaas is $8 a glass, while their house wine during happy hour is $7. Somehow, buttermilk costs more than wine. 😂 Overall, great food, gorgeous interiors, and a really nice Indian atmosphere, but families with very young children should keep the high-chair situation in mind — and maybe check the chaas pricing before ordering!

We hosted a client dinner at Bombay Street Food during a recent conference for 35-40 attendees and had a fantastic experience. The food was excellent, the drinks were great, and the private/group dining space worked perfectly for our event. Just as importantly, the team was wonderful to work with. They stayed in touch with me throughout the planning process, were incredibly accommodating with our group, and made everything easy from start to finish. The service that evening was friendly, attentive, and welcoming, and our guests had a great time. I’d absolutely recommend Bombay Street Food for a group dinner or event — and we’ll definitely keep them in mind the next time we’re in DC.

There was only 1 other table in the entire restaurant and yet service was extremely slow. Took the server at least 15 minutes to take our order. We asked for a certain meat and was brought something else. Server didnt care the order was wrong. Food was so bland, incredibly salty that is barely edible, and 10000x expensive compared to others places ive been too. When trying to interact with the server, he was so quiet even after asking him to speak up, we still had a difficult time talking to him. We had to get up and ask for more water and rice because he vanished and never came back after getting our food. There was also a automatic 18% tip on there which I was not informed about that was added to the bill. No wonder why his service sucked. He didnt have to work for it!! This was my birthday celebration and it was ruined by horrible non-existent service, extremely overpriced food for what little amount you get, and by far the worst Indian food ive ever had Do NOT go here!

I visited this establishment for the first time today and I was very disappointed. The food was average at best and I was shocked to find out that the entrees do not come with rice which caused me to have to pay extra money. I have never been to an Indian restaurant that operated this way. Clearly these people are money hungry. The service was not great either. I had to ask for my waiter several times. If you are looking for an Indian restaurant that serves excellent food, provides exceptional customer service and provides rice with their entrees instead of trying to take advantage by making you pay extra for it I woyld highly recommended Nanaste in Crofton. Do NOT come here you. Everything is overpriced and the service is unacceptable unless you are an Indian patron. You have been warned spend your money where you will be appreciated and respected. Their food is nothing to rave over. Trust ne on that!

Came in around an hour and 15 minutes before closing and was seated at a table within the next 8 minutes however, once we were seated, we did not receive any menus. My group of 6 was left dumbfounded and had no clue what to order as there were no menus. We tried asking for menus but all of the waiters seemed to have forgotten us in the corner of the restaurant. Later a waiter comes over and asks us if we’re ready to order when we say that we never received menus in the first place. He quickly grabbed us menus and apologized. This cycle ended up repeating throughout the night to the point where we didn’t even get our food until 5 minutes before closing. Another group larger than us came in after us and were able to eat and leave before we even got our food. We ended up staying beyond closing to finish our food and left around 10:45 - 50ish that night. The food itself was honestly great, in my opinion the vegetarian and seafood dishes were the best but the service completely ruined our night. The waitresses were cleaning and serving food while the servers/waiters were on their phones. At the end, for the inconvenience they gave us free bowls of rice on the house and then proceeded to charge us 18% gratuity. Not the best experience :/
