Jollof rice was hard, as a Sierra Leonen the stew on the side is not good. Jerk chicken is not good and too fatty and bland. Beef cabob is dry and hard, not much flavor but more spice…. and the turkey is pretty good out of everything I ordered and tried. Definitely would not recommend and I won’t be returning to order.

Edit regarding the response I received: Thank you for your response. I appreciate you taking the time to reply back. However, I want to clarify that I am familiar with fufu and have enjoyed many different cultural cuisines over the years, including African dishes. My review was not based on unfamiliarity with the food or unrealistic expectations. When I referred to it as “water,” I was being sarcastic to emphasize my disappointment—not to suggest that I literally believed I was served water. The fufu I received had an unusually loose consistency, almost resembling water, and it was also nearly tasteless. I respect traditional African cuisine and understand that recipes and preparation methods can vary. My comments were directed at the quality of the specific meal I was served, not at African food or culture. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet the standard I expected, and I shared my honest review based on that experience.

The problem with this establishment is the customer service. You call to place an order and the man who answers the phone is disgustingly rude. I find this to be a common issue with several of the West African cuisine restaurants I’ve patronized and I’ve decided I’m not spending my money with these establishments any longer! I called first the man interrupts me while I’m placing the order as if he is so frazzled to say I’ll call you back and I only ordered 2 items, Waakye and Egusi! He clearly can’t handle multitasking. He is a bald head brown skin man. He was very nasty when I asked him literally 2 questions, why! You work in food you should expect that! He came off very foolish for something so simple. A person like that could never work for my business bc what a poor representation. There is a woman with locs she was nice but he already spoiled my experience…….they need to keep the man off the phone. I would not recommend this place to anyone especially if you are a black American. They should understand that this is America and your patrons will not just be west Africans and regardless when people are paying their hard earned money to support your establishment that you depend on for your livelihood each customer should be met with respect bc nobody is obligated to support your business. In addition to that why not treat people the way you’d want to be treated. If you were seeking a service somewhere and all you were simply doing is placing an order would you want to be met with such disrespect? Sad sad sad I do not recommend NOT FRIENDLY NOT WELCOMING VERY RUDE

Ordered the friend yam/turkey (~$20) waakye with fried fish (~$30). Took about 30-45min for them to make. It was very flavorful, one of the best waakye and fish I’ve tasted in a while. The fried yam was done perfectly, the fried turkey was the least well done they gave only two turkey pieces with meat the rest was fatty and bone. The environment was very welcoming and the owner was very kind and opened to conversation.
