Out of nowhere, the restaurant tacks on an extra $4.99 with zero explanation. I call to ask why, and the owner starts yelling at me, says he’s “busy cooking,” and hangs up on me — over a legitimate question about a charge on my own order. My husband had to physically drive to the restaurant just to get an answer, and the explanation he was given was that “Uber doesn’t pay them a delivery fee” — which is not the customer’s problem and doesn’t justify charging me more after the order was already placed and paid for. If this is how they treat paying customers over $5, I’d hate to see how they handle an actual problem. Uber Eats support was no help either. Avoid.
