  They updated the garage to force you to scan a QR and text a number to enter, but the system doesn’t even work. The control arms won’t actually lift to let people enter or exit. Wasted 30 minutes just trying to leave the parking garage. If you want to shop here make sure you have a smart phone and be prepared to waste 15 minutes trying to enter and another 30 to have someone come manually let you out. I’m not even sure why they would force you to scan a QR code for access. Hopefully, no one replaces their QR with a malicious QR code that leads to a malware download. It feels like this place hates its customers.

  I used to enjoy coming here but the shopping carts situation is out of control. The past three times I’ve been here I’ve literally been unable to find a shopping cart in the lobby, parking area, or inside the store to use. The staff doesn’t care. I has got me reconsidering where I shop, with Giant being just as close to me.

  DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ORDERING FROM THE BAKERY I PLACED MY ORDER ON TUESDAY & literally called to make sure they had everything in stock for the cake i preordered online ! they wait until 30 mins before my pick up time on thursday to call me and tell me they don’t have whip cream icing .. which im sure they knew yesterday!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HWRE AGAIN

  I recently visited this Safeway and had a frustrating experience at checkout. When I went to pay, neither I nor the other waiting customers could tell which self-checkout lanes were actually open. We formed a line behind the two that appeared to be in use. A young employee—mid-twenties, in jeans and an untucked t-shirt, with a radio clipped to his waist—approached the group. Rather than helping, he muttered something unintelligible, made it clear he was annoyed with us, rolled his eyes, and walked off. He was also eating from a family-size bag of mesquite kettle chips the whole time. From his point of view, I'm sure it seemed obvious that an open lane was available; from where we stood, the lanes simply didn't look usable. (It's also worth noting the self-checkout area never seems to have bags stocked.) I moved to a staffed register instead. I asked the cashier whether the young man was the manager, since she had witnessed his behavior and said nothing to correct it. She told me she was the manager but offered nothing further: no apology on his behalf, and not even a bag for my groceries, which was the whole reason I'd avoided self-checkout in the first place. I can't recommend this location. In my experience, including previous visits, the staff come across as unprofessional and poorly presented. If management replies to this review, I'd expect one of three things: they ignore it (most likely), they post a copy-paste apology directing me to call or email some number—ironic, given the review is right here—or someone defends the employee's conduct, which wouldn't surprise me given that the manager on duty saw no problem with it at the time. If you can avoid this Safeway, I'd shop elsewhere. The nearby Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are both solid alternatives.
