The young gentleman running the register of the single open lane was polite and cheerful, despite a bit of a backup and delay in the line. He was warm but professional, and dispelled any minor anoyance I had at the wait. He deserves to be praised. I believe his name tag said Benito. Anyway, my shopping experience was a positive one. I have come to prefer Safeway over Giant and Walmart because of recent experiences like this.

Overall, I enjoy shopping there as the store clerks are always very friendly and I know where everything is. But, often items I purchase week after week are out-of-stock. For instance, I routinely buy Lucerne Italian Style Sweet Cream Coffee Creamer. It has been out-of-stock at this store for over a month! I have to drive to the Shady Grove Road Safeway to buy this item. While I am there, I stock up on several other items that are routinely missing at the Darnestown store. I'm afraid that eventually I will have to change my routine and go to the Shady Grove location for my weekly shopping -- I don't want to do that, but if the selection at Darnestown continues to be lacking, guess I'll make the change.
