- MAMS Agresti1 day ago3.0I have been shopping at this store (Darnestown Road, Gaithersburg, Maryland) for 41 years. Overall, I enjoy shopping there as the store clerks are always very friendly and I know where everything is. But, often items I purchase week after week are out-of-stock. For instance, I routinely buy Lucerne Italian Style Sweet Cream Coffee Creamer. It has been out-of-stock at this store for over a month! I have to drive to the Shady Grove Road Safeway to buy this item. While I am there, I stock up on several other items that are routinely missing at the Darnestown store. I'm afraid that eventually I will have to change my routine and go to the Shady Grove location for my weekly shopping -- I don't want to do that, but if the selection at Darnestown continues to be lacking, guess I'll make the change.

I only go in the rarest of circumstances, usually if I am literally on the way home and do not want to make an extra drive since this location is two minutes from my house. I avoid it if I can. I have lost count of how many times I have found expired items still on the shelf. We have returned spoiled milk and meat over and over again. I will not buy anything that is supposed to be fresh from here anymore and just go elsewhere. I just left the store after trying to buy a pack of Gatorade and the one on the shelf was two months past its expiration date. Still sitting there. It is shocking. I do not understand what the issue is with this store. I truly wish this would be fixed since it is the closest location to me, but now I proceed with caution every time I go. If I buy anything frozen or refrigerated, I have to triple check the dates. Every single item needs to be checked and there is almost always something expired on the shelf.
