This place is fantastic. The food is fresh . The cornbread has a drizzle over it that adds to the cake like flavor. I had the chicken fingers that were fresh not the frozen kind, with a sweet sour sauce and rice! Menu has a wide variety for most appetites. Family owned, Chef Drift took time to come to the table to see how we were doing which in this day of hurrying was appreciated. Located in Edgewood near the train station was quiet and has take out or eat in.

The food is amazing and never disappoints no matter what you get! We have it delivered and it is worth the delivery fee.

Won't be ordering here again. Went on a weekend. It turns out they make the food during the week and heat up the left overs in a microwave behind the register. We were not impressed by the food quality and we're frankly excited to try and recommend this place. But the 'chef' was unfriendly, the atmosphere, well they didn't even try. And the food meh. Recently saw that they are using false advertising with AI to promote the restaurant, completely misleading. Very unsure of the food safety practices first and foremost

I stopped past here last week to grab lunch. Overall a pretty underwhelming experience. As several others have mentioned, the mac and cheese is not homemade, or baked. Essentially Kraft. Mashed potatoes are instant, and the gravy came out of a can. Cornbread is not savory, just yellow cake. Interior is not inviting and is very outdated. Staff was friendly, but food took over 20 minutes. The food here is pretty expensive, and contributes to the feeling that you've overpaid due to the very mid/low level quality of the food. Soul food is a tough thing to pull off when you aren't giving the effort to make dishes from scratch. I also tried to order online the evening before, they accepted the order and took my payment, only for me to pull up and see that they were closed. Their site allows you to order even when the establishment is closed. They did refund my money without me having to contact them the next day. I also see that the owners reply to some posts indicating how difficult of a struggle it is for a black owned business in that part of MD. To be candid, a customer is under no obligation to report a unsatisfactory meal. Its a gamble to patronize a restaurant. However, composing an honest review of your experience is in no way a statement on black businesses. It is dark times, why not give the community their money's worth when they are supporting your business. If you need to know any more, simply read the reply to my neutral review. It was written at 4am, likely in a drunken tantrum when they should have been prepping food. Kraft is not black owned. No farmer lost a single crop for any dish you serve. If you won't tolerate disrespect, tell me that when I pull up. If you are aware of the discrepancy in your hours, simply fix it and you can avoid these types of reviews. Expecting a home cooked meal at a soul food spot is not being hard to please. Learn how to take feedback or close...
