- VTVirgil TucciSep 16, 20262.0I have accidentally bought 2 out of date foods from here. Here is my story. The first time I bought some chocolate chip cookie dough and happily ate them. After a few days of having the dough in my fridge, I decided to check the Best Buy date to see when they WOULD expire, so I could put them in the freezer. Come to find out, they had expired a whole MONTH before I even bought them 😭. Another time, I bought some tofu and took it home. Upon arriving to my humble abode, I checked the bests by date and it had expired 2 weeks before that. I quickly returned to the store and notified the customer service representative of what had transpired. She promptly paid me back in cash and told me that she would notify the staff of the issue. Safeway is the oldest grocery store in the area, and the least packed with people so I sometimes go there to avoid running into anyone I know. I like that the lights aren’t as bright as giant and Harris teeter, and you can sometimes walk around the whole store without meeting anyone. Strangely enough, they also are the only store in the whole area that sells Chinese eggplant, so that’s 1 star im adding.

One of the head pharmacists used to operate her own private pharmacy for decades within the community before they had to close down and she started working at Safeway. That knowldge and experience pays off.
