Visit this Giant at least twice a month. Great store, employees and "chicken salad"!

I’m really getting fed up with this Giant. The produce department in particular. I prefer to use the “scan it” so I don’t have to wait in a checkout line. During my last visit, three of the four scales weren’t working. Two didn’t have any labels and the other was completely turned off. Next, I go to get the Duke’s mayo that was on sale. The shelf is completely empty while a staffer was working right beside the blown out shelf. When I asked if they had any in the back, I was told, “We’re probably out “. I guess I’ll never know. The sale on the Duke’s was one of the reasons I went there. I had checked the area where they sell the fried chicken at 10:35 a.m., but they didn’t have an 8 piece dark meat, only 8 piece mixed. I asked when the 8 piece dark would be ready and was told it would be soon. I checked back at 10:55 - still not there. I asked again and was told he “hasn’t gotten to it yet” and it would be “at least another 20 minutes”. I came to Giant to get the chicken for dinner, but I was disappointed as usual. Prior to the July 4th holiday, they had Heinz ketchup on sale - 2 for $6.00. When I checked my receipt when I got home, I had been charged the full regular price. And this had happened several times. It happened when pork ribs were on sale. I scanned a rack that had a $20 price, but marked down ton$11. I checked my receipt and it showed that I had paid yhe full price. I took it to customer service where it was corrected, but I’m feeling like I have to watch Giant like a hawk. I don’t want to have to pay for my groceries then return to get the refund on the items I was overcharged on. As I said previously, I prefer to use the scan it, but I’ve had issues with the device freezing up halfway through shopping and not being able to scan my Giant card. My wife prefers Wegmans and it’s not helping Giant’s cause to keep having problems. I spend a lot of money at Giant, but that could all be ending soon.

I’ve been going to this Giant for years, since before their move to this location. The store is clean and well-stocked, with a wide variety of products. The people are friendly and helpful as well. However, now having been bitten by it yet again, I wanted to caution to check expiration dates on anything you buy here. This Giant stocks and sells food that’s past its expiration date, particularly in refrigerated sections—cheeses, dips, salsas, etc. I have been bitten by this a few times before, to the point of becoming conscious enough to check dates before buying—avoiding a few bad purchases in the process. But, yesterday, I forgot, bought something, and didn’t notice until this morning when I opened it to the foulest smell—5 days past expiration. I had to pitch it and am out money again. Again, this is a fine-enough store. But, buyer beware here: Make sure you’re not wasting your hard-earned money and don’t blindly trust that they’re rotating or getting rid of old stock. Check expiration dates.

Incident happened to me , was rushing towards Giant for some urgent medical things to pickup but they close the door at 10.55pm though they saw me coming and while asked they didn’t even show courtesy to talk to customer. Their store closing time is 11pm .the staff who stands near the shelf checkout counter at night is ridiculous and was smiling at me ..it’s disrespectful towards customer who coming to your store for last many years

Clean, well-stocked, huge selection. Good pricing, seems identical to Stop & Shop. Never a line at self-checkout. Helpful staff
