***Updated 5/9/26. Today’s meal was an absolute redemption! Many thanks to the wonderful manager Sanaz who truly cares about her customers. We ordered lamb shawarma - one of our favorite dishes! The meat was just as what we used to - perfectly marinated slices in aromatic spices with perfect golden edges yet succulent inside.
Lamb Kebab was perfectly cooked to medium rare and had a beautiful, smoky touch from the grill and a melt-in-the-mouth texture.
Truffle Parm Fries & Sauce are hands down our favorite side!!! Please beware: the truffle sauce is dangerously addictive, too, lol. Falafel appetizer was perfectly crispy on the outside and vibrantly herby and soft on the inside. The shirazi salad was a perfect side to brighten up the palate.
I highly recommend to place your order for Mother’s Day (or any other day for that matter) and give your mom a break she deserves!
***Edited 5/3/26. The manager has contacted me directly about our order and was very understanding about my concerns. Somehow our order got mixed up, which I know happens, and the manager made it right for us. It really shows that these business owners care about their customers which is rare these days. We’ll continue to be loyal customers of Boro Kabob.
*****************
We’ve been regular customers since Boro Kabob opened in Columbia and really enjoyed the flavors and food quality, which is rare these days. However, after a recent order we were deeply disappointed. We ordered lamb shawarma and instead of the usual firm and succulent meat slices we got chopped up ground meat with no flavor whatsoever, we couldn’t even taste the salt. To mask flavorless meat it was covered in some sauce. Our favorite fries came soggy this time and instead of side of truffle sauce for our fries we were given ketchup. Kobideh kabob was just ok. Even rice tasted plain this time around and lacked a sprinkle of sumac seasoning it used to have. This review is not a reflection on staff as they are always pleasant and friendly.

I’m really disappointed with my recent experience at Boro Kabob.
We placed an online order yesterday evening around 6:30 PM for a platter for two with Kobideh, which is specifically what my husband wanted for his birthday. The order went through and we were charged, but shortly after, we received a call saying they were out of Kobideh.
That was already frustrating, but what made the experience worse was how it was handled. When we asked if we could substitute the Kobideh for a mix of beef and chicken skewers, we were told the price would jump to over $90, which made no sense considering our original total was around $38. We were then told absolutely no substitutions weren’t allowed and that we’d have to order completely separate platters instead.
There was no effort to accommodate us, no offer to involve a manager, and no empathy despite the fact that this was for a birthday dinner and the issue was on their end after accepting and charging for the order.
To make matters worse, the charge is still pending on my account.
We really enjoyed the food the first time we visited, which is why we came back, but this experience completely changed our perception. Unfortunately, due to the lack of customer service and flexibility, we will not be returning or recommending this restaurant.
**Update**
Updating my review for fairness.
After my original review, I personally had to follow up a week later because I still had not received the refund for the canceled order. During that call, the manager apologized, acknowledged that the situation was mishandled, and agreed that we should have been offered better options at the time.
I later found out the refund had actually never been processed at all, despite us being told the charge would be voided. The manager did eventually process the refund, sent confirmation, and offered a gift card as an apology, which I appreciated.
While I still think the original experience and handling of the situation were poor, I do appreciate the manager taking accountability and attempting to make things right once I reached out.

Boro Kabob is one of my favorite places! The food is always fresh, juicy, and consistently delicious. I order from them every week, and Sanaz, Raymond, and their team always provide outstanding customer service with such warmth and care.
I’ve tried almost everything on the menu, which makes choosing hard, but I love that they offer so many great options. Our go-to is usually the family combo with koobideh, chicken, and barg always perfectly prepared. Their dips are amazing too, especially the roasted pepper hummus, baba ghanoush, masto khiar, and masto musir. And their Persian ice cream is the best!
The restaurant itself has such beautiful vibes and aesthetics, making every visit enjoyable. Highly recommend Boro Kabob to anyone looking for delicious Persian food and a welcoming atmosphere!
They also opened in Ellicott City and can’t wait to host my birthday with them!

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING!!! This is my new favorite Persian restaurant! I went with my husband and I ordered the kubideh kabob, let’s start with how soft (to the perfect amount) ,well cooked, delicious and beautiful the rice was, as A PERSIAN MYSELF, we know how hard it is to make a perfect looking and tasting rice! The kubideh (the beef kabob) was juicy, soft, tender and tasty! It also came with 3 grilled tomatoes which nowadays most restaurants are being cheap and give you only one, so I was very happy to get three grilled juicy tomatoes! I was so pleased by the flavors that I forgot to take a picture before finishing half of my dish, hence why you don’t see the beautiful presentation of the dish. My husband absolutely loved his kubide wrap with sumac fries and kept complementing it on each bite. We were also served the warmest and most delightful pita bread with mast o khiar ( yogurt dip with cucumbers) which also was very yummy and didn’t taste like watered down yogurt dips from other places. We were also served MIRZAGHASEMI (the smoked eggplant, tomato and garlic dip) with KASHKEBADEMJAN( whipped eggplant with walnuts) which each one of them were perfectly made with the correct amount of smokiness and herbs that wasn’t overpowering. I also had the rose water lime tea which was very refreshing and would highly recommend in these warm spring days! Last but not least the PERSIAN SAFFRON ICE CREAM which is also hand made but he owner RAYMOND was one of the best tasting Persian ice creams I’ve ever had. Perfect amount of cream, saffron with big chuck of pistachios! Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone and also have to mention the service was fast, nice and the restaurant overall very clean and welcoming!
