A fiery chicken curry made with one of the world’s hottest chilies —
ghost pepper — balanced with rich spices and a bold tomato-onion gravy. For the true heat seekers.
A royal slow-cooked chicken curry with yogurt, fried onions, and aromatic spices — sealed and simmered in traditional Hyderabadi dum style for deep flavor infusion.
Soft cubes of paneer simmered in a rich, creamy tomato-butter gravy infused with aromatic spices and a hint of sweetness. A North Indian classic loved for its luxurious taste.
The Tandoor is a clay oven and is fired with charcoal reaching temperatures more than 600* F. The different strata of heat within are used for various cuts of meat, which are marinated, in yogurt, garlic and other spices before being skewered and grilled.

The food is delicious with perfect portions. The food is also plated beautifully and the restaurant and very pretty. I had the best mango lassi here. The menu has lots of options for vegetarians also.

Passage to India is a great spot with excellent food and customer service. The chicken saag was especially good—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel welcoming from start to finish. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for quality Indian food and a pleasant dining experience.

I’m not sure if they understand what it means to be in the hospitality business. They were so cold and uninterested in serving. Height of being rude was when we asked for a drink, they said, “you wouldn’t like it”. We later learned that they did not have any trained bartender and claimed they didn’t know how to put a drink together. Some items that we ordered were roughly put on the table, low key kind of thrown.Food was just okay but service was pathetic.

We were a party of six, with a little boy, at Passage to India today. The food was brilliant! Tandoori chicken, Tandoori prawn, butter chicken and dal. Everything was so good! As we expected! If you want Michelin level Indian food outside Mumbai or Lucknow's lanes come to Passage to India, Bethesda!
The manager and waiter were so kind. My little grandson was very hungry after being picked up from his summer camp. But they understood and brought a plate of rice and dal for him to begin with while the tandooris were being cooked. This kindness and compassion in the service was so beyond everything!
The ambience is, of course, wonderful.
This is why my son had his wedding dinner here, last month.
It was so easy to work with the management! And then on the evening of the Dinner, the food was so wonderful!. We had family from Spain, France, England, Australia besides 15 US states. And they loved the food. They loved the professionalism of the service.
One guest was strictly vegetarian but except for dal we had not ordered any vegetarian dish in the main course. The manager rushed in to assure us and immediately tossed up a wonderful vegetarian item for the guest. Their kindness and care to help us was unbelievable!
And everyone ....the chef, the managers and servers made us proud!
Thank you, Passage to India!

We were a group of 10 people who booked a reservation here based on recommendations for being a Visa Signature restaurant and suggestions from Chase.
Unfortunately, it turned out to be a total disappointment. Having dined all over the world and coming from a hospitality background myself, I found this experience to be a complete shambles in front of our guests.
The restaurant closes at 9 PM sharp, and our reservation was for 7:45 PM. This created a rushed atmosphere from the start. There were no tandoor items available, and not all appetizers could be ordered because a new menu was set to be launched soon.
We ordered butter chicken since there were no tandoor options. However, the chicken seemed to have been cooked an unknown amount of time before serving because it was cold on the inside, while the gravy was merely warm. My daughter didn't eat after that.
We were not provided with a drinks menu, which added to the rushed feeling of trying to eat and leave quickly. The dessert options were also limited. After dinner, the atmosphere felt like it was time to leave promptly for the night.
This will be our last visit to this restaurant, especially since there are many other options available. It seems they may need new management and a complete menu overhaul. The meal, totaling around $225 for a party of four adults and four children, and we ended up taking most of our food home.
