  This store is expensive. But if you want serious quality you must expect to pay for it. I do enjoy shopping here because I can trust that all the work of shopping and cooking will be well worth it.

  I really love Balducci's. They really pack a lot into this boutique, but substantial grocery. As it's their only location in MoCo, they're allowed an alcohol permit and have a fairly extensive selection of wines. They also have wine experts to assist with your selections. The prepared foods are very nice, quite a lot to choose from to make for a quick family meal or picnic. The smoked salmon is hand cut, very thin, which is one of the primary things that brings me back to Balducci's regularly. The cheese section is vast. The produce is top quality, well displayed, also pre-cut fruit. The floral area has a lot of wonderful pre-made bouquets and have arrangers available. Large pastry and cakes displays. Outstanding store and a great and preferred alternative to Whole Foods.

  Lovely store. Nice products. Pricey. It's hard to believe it's owned by the same company as the "Soviet" Safeway...

  On July 29 I bought 3 lamb shanks, totaling $60, at the butcher counter. When I got them home, 20 minutes later, I found they had gone off. They smelled so bad I am surprised the butcher didn’t smell it when he wrapped them for me. I had to throw them out.

  I have been a loyal customer of Balducci's for over 20 years and have always enjoyed shopping here, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I visited the store at 7:00 a.m. before work to buy a breakfast sandwich. The employee making the sandwiches told me the oven wasn’t ready and asked me to wait about four minutes. I said that was fine and walked around the store. When I came back more than 10 minutes later, the oven was still not ready. Instead of apologizing, she said, “What do you want me to do? My oven isn’t ready,” with a rude attitude that made me feel like she was doing me a favor instead of serving a customer. I spoke with the manager, jing, who said she had seen what happened and that she would talk to the employee. Unfortunately, there was no apology or effort to make the situation right. If the store opens at 7:00 a.m., the sandwich station should be ready to serve customers, or at the very least, customers should be treated with courtesy and respect. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously because the customer service has noticeably declined, and that is disappointing for someone who has supported this store for more than two decades.
