I live right behind Giant, so sometimes it’s unavoidable for me to shop there. With two little ones, I occasionally have to make a last-minute trip for essentials like eggs or milk. Unfortunately, the employees are often rude and unhelpful, and today I had an especially bad experience.
I walked into the store with my two young children, and right at the front entrance, my kids had to hear employees using abusive language while arguing with each other. I found this completely inappropriate, especially in front of children.
Then, when I went to self-checkout, I realized that my bag of onions was missing tag. I informed the employee, and she responded in a very abrupt and rude manner, telling me, “Well, you have to go get a new one.”
I had my two small children with me and was expected to leave the checkout line, go back into the store to get another bag of onions, and then come back and wait in line again—all because the employee was unwilling to assist me.
I always try my best to avoid shopping at this location because of experiences like this, but since I live right behind Giant, sometimes I have no choice. I hope management takes these concerns seriously, especially regarding employees’ behavior and the language being used in front of customers and children.
