  Love market basket or shaws always find something I need here aN ok place to shop more than ok they are full stocked and self check out registers make shopping quick

  I only go here for two reasons: 1) Unlike other local pharmacies, they keep a medication I use in stock and it is always ready when it is time for a refill. 2) Unlike other local supermarkets, they consistently carry two specific food items I eat nearly every day. ​Be warned that the store layout is poorly designed. The entrance and exit are on extreme opposite ends of the building. The exit is much closer to the pharmacy, frozen section, and checkout. If you park near the main entrance, you are forced into a long, tiresome walk all the way across the store and back—which could be especially annoying or difficult for elderly shoppers. I usually just slip in through the exit doors to save time, though you have to be mindful of people leaving. ​The prices are on the high end, but they have self-serve checkout, which is a major plus because the one or two regular lines that are open are usually unnecessarily slow.

  I have been a customer at Star Market in Lexington for many years, and sadly, today I had my first negative experience. Particularly with the male representative/manager(?) working the Customer Service desk this evening. I waited patiently for his attention as he responded angrily and loudly to a customer on speaker phone, telling her things like “that sounds like a you problem!” When I finally got his attention to do my (first ever) return, he quickly remarked “we dont even have that!” Even though the item is still in stock only a few aisles down. He then refused to exchange the item or provide a refund because i did not have a receipt. I understand there are rules in place but the attitude and anger about this request was unwarranted.
