I’ve found prices outrageous, and on several occasions, the prices at check out are higher than listed. I’ve had products that were expired or go bad within a few days of purchase. I’m not sure why they changed the store around, but they should be focused on improving operations & customer service. I was there tonight and there was 1 cashier for the entire store and had no choice but to go to self-checkout. There was also only 1 person working at self-checkout, and he was looking at his phone. I get its self checkout but had to bag my own groceries after having to unpack & stock the bags! Its a pathetic and doesn’t seem like posting reviews helps improve the situation.

Nice store, friendly staff. I only wish they had more healthy options.

Met the most condescending guy I’ve ever seen in stop and shop. Very passive aggressive, annoyed, and was even tossing my shit around.
Which sucks because I like shopping here, especially when I need a few quick items. But I’m definitely never going to this one. I’d rather take the 15 extra minutes to drive to the other Stop and Shop, or the cheaper grocery store Market Basket that’s 10/15 minutes away.
I wasn’t paying attention so on me, but he was in the express lane and started complaining after he started scanning my stuff. Which he was tossing across the register. So I ask him if I he wants me to move because he’s tossing my stuff. And he responds with “I’m 5 deep, mate”. And just had a snarky demeanor and condescending answers to everything I asked.
So why complain “mate”? It’s redundant.
I could have even taken off some items if it really bothered him that much. I only had 14.
It wasn’t a big deal to take out 2 things or move registers or to the self checkout (which is ironic because I usually go there instead). It’s not my fault he’s at a job he clearly doesn’t enjoy. We’ve all been there, but it’s never the clients fault.
I doubt anything will come of this since most companies protect their employees from small things, but he definitely could benefit from learning a bit about customer service training.
I’ve worked all over as a teen, and even I had a better attitude than him in my youth, and he seemed like an older man. Not sure what he’s going through, but he needs to learn to either work or deny people instead of being rude. Will help him in life.
But thought I’d write a review which I rarely do to complain on him. I even kept looking up at the sign because it looked different. But on the back side where I was looking at it, it didn’t say express, my bad for not looking before I enter I guess. There were only 2 cashiers open, all I saw was an open lane, mind you there were no real customers in the store like in other places.
He was on cash register 14 at 5:22pm on Sunday August 12th. I knot they move him around, but if you want to shop there, at least avoid him. He had a very thick Australian accent. Sadly the receipts don’t have cashier numbers so there’s nothing to let others know of his employee number or name. But I definitely won’t be back at that store.
He was lucky my kid was there or I’d have flipped out. Just no need for disrespect or passive aggressiveness.

On July 16, Luan was checking out my family, did not greet or anything and already presenting bad customer service. The bagger on that register was roughly bagging stuff and throwing the grocery’s into the cart without care. The bagger was also demanding, not asking politely at all, but demanding a 10 year old child to load heavy stuff onto the cart as if it’s his job. The main issue was the bagger, you do not DEMAND somebody else’s CHILD to do YOUR job especially with heavy weight bags that a child can barely lift up. She wasn’t old or anything, she could’ve very much put the bags in the cart herself or asked one of the adults to do it, as it is HER job. Sad to see that these are the people who land jobs, people who don’t want to do them right, instead of people who are desperately seeking employment.
