I genuinely don’t know how this McDonald’s manages to stay open. From the second I walked in, it felt like everything that could go wrong did. The floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in forever, half the tables were covered in crumbs, and the trash cans were overflowing. I stood at the counter for what felt like an eternity while multiple employees walked past without even acknowledging that I was there.
When I finally ordered, it somehow took even longer to get my food despite the restaurant barely being busy. My fries were cold and tasted like they had been sitting under the heat lamp since breakfast. The burger looked like it had been thrown together from across the room. The bun was squished, the cheese wasn’t melted, and there was barely any sauce. My drink tasted watered down, and the ice machine sounded like it was fighting for its life.
To make things even better, they forgot half of my order. I had to wait in line again just to tell them, and instead of apologizing, they acted like I was inconveniencing them. By the time I got the missing food, everyone else I was eating with had already finished.
The atmosphere wasn’t much better. People were yelling across the restaurant, the bathroom was in rough shape, and one of the kiosks wasn’t working. It honestly felt more chaotic than a fast food restaurant should.
Now, with all that being said…
There was exactly one redeeming part of this entire experience.
Unc.
I don’t know if that’s his real name or just what everyone calls him, but Unc was the only person in the building who acted like he actually cared. He was friendly, respectful, and somehow managed to stay positive while everything around him was falling apart. He checked on people, smiled, and actually treated customers like human beings. If this review had to be based only on Unc, it’d be 5 stars without hesitation.
Unfortunately, one amazing employee can’t make up for everything else. If Unc ever leaves, I honestly don’t know what this place has going for it.
Management should thank Unc every single day because he is carrying this entire McDonald’s on his back. Without him, this would’ve easily been the worst fast food experience I’ve ever had.
Final Rating: 1/5.
The food was disappointing, the service was slow, the restaurant was messy, and the experience was frustrating.
Only reason it isn’t 0 stars: Unc.
