Nearly every shopping cart has a flattened wheel, the prices are practically extortionary, and the self-checkout will accuse its customers of stealing. The other day, I scanned an item, placed it in the bagging area...an error presented saying that I did not scan the item and a video replayed as though I was a criminal. I figured I must have made a mistake, the employee cleared the code and I went back scanning. I scanned a loaf of bread, heard a beep, and placed the bread in the bagging area. Again, the self checkout displayed a code and replayed a video like I was a criminal. I was absolutely mortified and refused to scan any more items at that self-checkout counter. Stop & Shop should not be allowed to operate self-checkout if they falsely accuse people of stealing. Needless to say, I recommend going somewhere else, if you have the option.

I would love to thank Oline and Hortencia(sorry if I spelled the names wrong) these two employees at the Newport Ave, Quincy,MA STOP&SHOP.. were pure Angels to me! I was having a very difficult day when I came to go food shopping, upon trying to pay for my groceries, unfortunately my mobile bank had put a fraud hold on my card. When trying to call my bank to get the hold off, it took several attempts to make the purchase that failed and literally over three hours for the bank to lift the hold for some odd reasons, because of that situation I felt very embarrassed,low,frustrated because of the bank had me in that situation..But because Oline and Hortencia was SO patient with me and the situation I was having with my bank, they helped me to feel less embarrassed, they even waited on me during the three hour phone call I was making to the bank, they checked on me to make sure I was OK, they helped me store my three carriage loads of groceries safe to the side,and some in a refrigerator, even let me change out the ice cream and milk that had got warm and melted..and anything else I needed to change out, because of their patience,kindness,and no judgments, just pure understanding..really helped me to stay calm as could be to resolve the situation with the bank over the phone,even after it literally took three hours to resolve with the bank, they encouraged me that it would work out and it did work out, I believe because they were so nice and very helpful I was able to stick it out, stayed calm while talking to the manager of the bank on the phone, Oline and Hortencia really made me feel like they cared and its very rare to find people that is very genuine like this! I hope this STOP&SHOP know how lucky and be proud to have these two employees to work for them because the are truly the best!!! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH AGAIN LADIES,I REALLY APPRECIATE BOTH OF YOU! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!
My family and I visited this store for routine grocery shopping.
During checkout, we interacted with a cashier named Ivy. When I politely asked a simple question at the register, the employee responded in a noticeably hostile and unprofessional manner. Her tone of voice became raised, and her facial expressions were disrespectful throughout the interaction.
At one point, the situation escalated to the point where we felt uncomfortable continuing at that register and decided to move to another checkout line in order to complete our purchase.
I also felt that there were inappropriate remarks made in a low voice in Chinese during the interaction, which added to the uncomfortable experience.
We did not expect special treatment—only basic professionalism and respectful customer service, which was not provided in this situation.
I hope the store takes customer service standards seriously so that all customers are treated with basic respect and professionalism.
