I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, it fell short for a few reasons.
We had a 7 o’clock dinner reservation and our table for two was pretty small and tucked into a little area where a window is. Our chairs were right against the framing of the little nook, making it very uncomfortable with little to no room to move. And it was right next to the bar, which was pretty noisy. I would have requested to move, but there didn’t seem to be anywhere to go, so we just dealt with it. So when making reservations, if you like a more roomy and quiet dining experience, request the main dining room.
My wife seemed to like her gnocchi , but I wasn’t a fan of the chicken parm. There was barely any sauce and the spaghetti under it was pretty dry and clumpy. It was almost a ball of spaghetti rather than individual strands. I probably should have requested more sauce. If you look at the picture I posted, you can’t even see the pasta. It’s under the chicken in a clump. Looking at past reviews here, I see some photos of the chicken parm that look much more appealing. So I would recommend you request extra sauce.
The thing that led me to leave this review was the tiramisu. I took one bite and there was a taste so off putting, I couldn’t eat it. It tasted as though the espresso was sour. When I talked to the waitress about it , rather than offering me something else or removing it from the bill, she said “it’s made fresh daily so perhaps it’s the alcohol you are tasting”. This wasn’t an alcohol taste, it was sour.

Our dinner was great the food was good and Cesar salad was meh. Service was awful, at least our server. They need some sort of background music too lol! Lots of potential for growth! I would visit again in another year or so if they are still in business. I wish you good luck!
Tried this new restaurant tonight. I can understand that with it being new some kinks are still being worked on. Food was excellent. service was terrible. No water refills, barely checked on, and long wait time for even just the table bread. The server walked by us multiple times not even making eye contact. would be willing to try again but definitely something needs to change.
What we ordered
Crispy fried eggplant — served with marinara and a tangy dip, crispy outside, tender inside
Beef carpaccio — topped with arugula, shaved cheese, and edible flowers, served with crispy crackers. Beautifully plated and well balanced
Steamed mussels — with fennel and a fragrant herb broth. Plump, tender mussels in a broth so good you'll want to sop it up with bread
House salad — simple but fresh, with tomatoes, cucumber, and shaved cheese on top
Penne pasta — tossed in sauce and piled high with freshly grated parmesan, finished with basil. Rich, homemade flavor

Adorable spot and when I’m in the area I love to have a great Italian meal. We went with friends who also were trying Zio for the first time.
The wine list is pretty solid and the prices are definitely reasonable. I was able to find the perfect wine to pair with our meal choices.
A meatball will tell a story about authentic Italian cooking and as the meatball appetizer was extremely tender, the flavor was a bit bland. The sauce was light and delicious, perfect for dipping the delicious focaccia that was served warm. Our entrees consisted of bolognese, chicken parm, filet and gnocchi. Everyone enjoyed their meal as did I BUT I am a gnocchi snob …. It says homemade on the menu but if these are homemade, I’m shocked! They were much too firm to be homemade.
We did order a couple of dessert items: the special apricot gelato and the tiramisu. The gelato which I had was refreshing and had amazing flavor. My friend had the tiramisu and she said it wasn’t something she would order again.
I will absolutely return as I need to try something new and give the place another chance.
