  They never have enough checkouts in the early morning hours..they have 1 staffed register and on self-service That's not enough. More times than.not I just leave whatever I'm trying to buy because of the long lines at both registers. Why not open the self checkout earlier in the morning.

  8/3/ 2026 2:47 Pm . I went through self checkout and 1 of the employees , came over took my groceries out the bag and counted them. I said what are you doing ,don”t touch my things it’s all paid for. This was not okay , I pay for my groceries always. Is this in your policies is this something knew. It’s unacceptable and do you check everyone”s groceries . The employee needs to be re- trained, I don’t know what you thought or was thinking , It shouldn’t have happened at all . It’s Stop & Shop not BJ”s . Didn’t like that all.

  I have visited the Medford S&S many times and generally rely on self-checkout. I've rarely interacted with cashiers or managers, so what follows may be an isolated incident. In the early morning, self-checkout lanes are closed, so shoppers need to go through a cashier line. From what I've noticed, the only open cashier line is run by a fairly rude women who overcharges customers on price and attitude. When I asked the manager about it, she blamed me for the encounter. I left the S&S feeling like I had lost 20 extra minutes of my life, but learned a small lesson. Don't shop early at the Medford S&S unless you want to ruin your morning!

  First, i want to give props to the man with dark hair, who's always working the customer service desk in the afternoon. I've dealt with him numerous times and he's always extremely pleasant and very quick to help you. Some people are just meant to be in customer service, and this employee is very good at his job! Second, this is probably the nicest stop & shop i've ever been to. It has very nice lighting, relaxed vibes, and the store has a sort of "throwback" atmosphere, like you are in a market from the early 1980's.
