  It's not the best thing to shop in the summer. Too many people. They shop in groups and clog the system. Look to shop off hours.

  Nice store. Ice cream freezers are not working right so the ice cream containers are all squishy or frosted over.

  The Stop & Shop on Route 6A in Orleans is generally considered one of the better, more reliable grocery options on the Outer Cape. Compared to some of the other locations in the area—which can sometimes feel a bit rundown or neglected—this one is often described by locals as being well-stocked, clean, and run by a friendlier team. ​It’s definitely the go-to spot if you need to do a full grocery haul. Because it’s larger than many of the other markets nearby, you’re much more likely to find exactly what you’re looking for, whether you’re stocking up for a week at the beach or just grabbing essentials. ​A few things to keep in mind: ​It’s a solid "all-in-one" stop: It has a pharmacy, a bakery, a deli, and even a gas station, which makes it super convenient if you’re trying to knock out a few errands at once. ​The "Cape Cod" experience: It’s a busy place, especially during the summer tourist season. If you can manage to go during off-peak hours, you’ll have a much smoother time getting through the aisles and checking out. ​Quality vs. Competition: While you might hear people debating the merits of other regional grocery chains, this store tends to hold its own. It’s widely regarded as the most pleasant Stop & Shop experience on the Cape, and it's certainly more reliable than the Provincetown location. ​Overall, it’s not a destination in itself, but it’s a very functional, well-managed supermarket that gets the job done. If you’re living or staying in the Orleans area, it’s almost certainly going to be your most reliable option for keeping the fridge and pantry full.
