Went into the drive-thru on a Saturday night to grab dinner for my family. We placed our order online because we knew that Saturday nights can be busy, and didn't want to waste anyone's time at the window.
I go to the speaker, tell them the pick-up order name, everything was correct on the order screen, and they told me to drive up to the window. Upon doing so, I waited around 15 minutes for my order. A little long, yes, but I understand that this night of the week is busy for food places like these, and I was fine with waiting a few extra minutes if my order was correct.
After waiting that time though, I received a total of one bag of food which is supposed to have all the items we ordered for an entire family, not just one or two people. I knew right then and there that something was missing, but I would have to park and figure out what.
To my chagrin, I was missing five different items including an order of nachos, a chalupa, a beef burrito, a taco salad, and nacho fries. Not to mention, all the food that WAS there was already cold, made very messily, and barely wrapped; practically thrown into the bag. All things considered, if the food was cold by the time it reached my hands, then the food must have been made by the time I got there. So what took so long at the window to get my food then? Nobody knows.
By the time I looked through everything and figured out what I was missing, the line at the drive-thru was already wrapped around the entire building. Seeing this, reluctantly, I went inside to get my missing items. Inside, there were about seven people all standing around the front with receipts in hand from what I could only assume were also messed up orders.
Even more, looking into the kitchen, there were two young men clearly under the influence and barely able to focus on their task at hand (no wonder) and one young woman, visibly stressed, who was doing everything she could to balance taking and serving new orders from the long drive-thru line AND attending to the busy front counter inside the establishment. What kind of poor management allows a staff of THREE PEOPLE to work on potentially the busiest night of their week on top of being so vigorously complacent in the wake of the mediocre culinary standards even for a fast food establishment? That poor woman is the only reason I'm sound with even giving this establishment one star.
Once I got to tell her everything I was missing, I waited for another ten minutes inside to receive my several missing items. Upon receiving this bag, I checked it before I left the building to discover, once more, that I was missing my chalupa. Fortunately, this was one of my items and not anyone else's, so I just gave up and went home with the item still missing.
Fast food used to be considered a treat to consumers. A cheap, quick way to get a quality bite to eat when you didn't feel like grocery shopping or cooking. As the years have gone by though, the prices increased disproportionately higher, the food quality became drastically worse, and the service has devolved into somehow the only thing worse than the food. This Taco Bell in particular is the perfect example of that. I encourage anyone thinking of getting Taco Bell to instead go to the one in Dartmouth if you insist on getting Taco Bell at all. Better yet, maybe this Taco Bell is giving us the perfect opportunity to stop giving business to fast food joints that obviously care nothing about the products they produce, nor the people they employ or serve.
Edit: Enclosed is a picture of the "taco salad" which I was also missing at first.
TLDR: Waited a long time for my food, they forgot half of my order, I went inside, they were severely understaffed and unprepared, and they still didn't get it right after they handed me my missing items.
TLDR for the TLDR: This place sucks.
