Reading your review was genuinely validating because our experience with Adrianna and Cameron at Rare Steakhouse was strikingly similar. What should have been a beautiful 46th wedding anniversary dinner became an unnecessarily uncomfortable experience due to the dismissive and patronizing way we were treated. True luxury hospitality is not about ego or subtle power plays — it is about grace, discretion, and making guests feel welcome regardless of who they are. Unfortunately, that standard was completely absent here.
What made the contrast so noticeable was that the rest of Encore Boston Harbor, especially the valet staff, was polished, warm, and professional. Rare Steakhouse would benefit greatly from hospitality professionals with genuine fine-dining experience and emotional intelligence, because multiple guests describing the same behavior from the same two employees is not a coincidence. Thank you as well for your recommendations — we will gladly be trying Capri, Capo, and Fratelli’s instead.

Managers with attitude lemme tell ya… Cameron needs to go. Made a joke about a free desert because the lamb chops were undercooked and buddy rolled his eyes and didn’t respond. Learn how to take a joke bud, you’re the manager, show some personality. Was a great dinner until that happened tbh, total vibe killer. Cameron you suck!

4/11-Not an experience that would make me want to go back. I had stopped in to adjust previously made reservations to add one more to the party. When we arrived 8 hrs later for dinner, was told that nothing had been adjusted and could not accommodate any more. The initial headcount was seated shortly after at a table that could seat plenty more, with empty tables all around us that remained empty the almost 3 hours we were there. For a fine dining, much pricier restaurant the service was horrible. 45 minutes for the initial drinks to arrive which would be understanding if it were busy, which it was not. Food itself was mediocre for the price. The handling and presentation of the food was chaotic. Check your bill as there were errors to their benefit. Overall, save your time and money and go somewhere else.

Came here for our wedding anniversary wanting to try something new. I ordered Filet which was raw & cold. Cameron brought it back to the kitchen and then brought it back out well done. I told him I won’t eat steak well done . My husband’s bone in sirloin was medium rare at best. Baked potato came out raw and cold baked potato that was hard as a rock & had to be sent back charged us for a 2nd baked potato after we were told it would be taken off the bill. It was not. We’re told we would get complementary dessert and comp the potato would come off the bill yet double charged for the potato. First time here will be our last time here do not recommend to anyone. Our friends just canceled their upcoming reservation. Cameron the manager was pompous & useless. Spoke to me like I was an idiot. Was told the GM would come over but she never did. Adrianna the GM hid from correcting the issue as she stood there at the door without a word. Go to Capri in the South End or Capo instead for a great meal. Better yet at the Casino, go to Fratellis. Rare was awful all around.
