  We were really looking forward to eating here again. Food was very good but disappointing that we didn’t get what was stated in the menu. Appetizer was Burrata and Heirloom tomatoes, there were about ? 4 grape sized heirloom tomatoes. Ordered Citrus Shrimp Scampi which stated white wine butter roasted tomatoes, fennel and lemon. There was not one tomato in the whole dish. It would have been nice if there was just a heads up there was a tomato shortage as opposed to trying to serve it without them. Didn’t mention to the wonderful waitress Kristen we had because it wasn’t her fault that the plates were not made correctly. The cucumber gimlet and spicy pineapple rita were both amazing. Would have done 5 stars if plates were served correctly!!

  There were 6 of us that dined at Pate’s on Saturday and we all loved it! We were greeted with a big smile when we walked in which was very welcoming. Everyone working there was very friendly and our server was great, I think his name was Ben. We all enjoyed our cocktails and meals and had a great time. We were staying at A Little Inn on Pleasant Bay and this was one of their restaurant recommendations

  Very disappointing, especially given our history with Pate’s. I came here as a child with my parents, and when my husband and I eloped to Chatham four years ago, we chose Pate’s for our wedding dinner. We’ve returned every year for our anniversary. After a poor experience last year, management apologized and specifically asked us to give them another chance. We did—and sadly, this year was no better. I detailed the significance of our anniversary in the reservation, yet despite the restaurant being less than half full, we were seated beside the wait-staff station and an exit door overlooking a stock/service area. There was no acknowledgment of our anniversary. We asked to enjoy an appetizer with our cocktails before ordering dinner and were told the kitchen required us to order everything at once. Drinks were slow to arrive, but once we ordered, the meal felt extremely rushed. The food was equally disappointing. My filet tasted as though it had been precooked and held, and the Cabernet demi-glace was a pool of oil and grease (photo attached). My husband’s “baked stuffed shrimp” were small shrimp with melon-ball-sized rounds of stuffing simply placed on top. After we ordered two desserts and after-dinner drinks, our waiter overheard us toast our anniversary and only then realized we were celebrating. He kindly brought a third dessert with a candle—a nice gesture, but far too late, and we certainly didn’t need three desserts. We don’t expect special treatment. We do expect good food, attentive service, attention to reservation notes, and the opportunity to enjoy a special dinner without feeling rushed—particularly at this price point. The saddest part is that Pate’s has been a Chatham tradition for me since childhood and became part of our wedding story. We came back because management asked us to give them another chance. We genuinely wanted it to be better. It wasn’t.

  We had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Pate’s. The food was incredible, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect! The dumplings and prime rib were some of the best we’ve ever had. Even the cocktails were excellent and perfectly balanced. While I was in the bathroom, our waiter Rafael grabbed my napkin off my seat and folded it. Such a small detail, but I never see that anymore. Scott was also great and checked in with us a few times throughout the meal. Some of the best food and service we’ve had in a long time. We’ll definitely be back!

  We enjoyed our time at Pate's as it offered a relaxed casual atmosphere with good service. There was a good selection of nice wines by the glass. The food was fine but not outstanding. The oysters on the half shell were a bit dry, seemed like they had been pre-shucked. I had the prime rib which arrived looking kind of grey. It was ok but it seemed like it had just been thrown under the broiler. The lobster was tasty. So a bit of a mixed experience with the food.
