Digital coupons, the Shaw's app and the ordeal one has to go through to get a sale item is a total joke. At least 1/3 of the time, the sale items don't right up and then the customer service hoops your have to go through to resolve the errors aren't worth it. Forget Shaw's. Go to Market Basket for honest pricing and no games.

I don't usually rate markets but just moves to North Shore & this Shaws/Star is the worst Shaws I've ever been to. So many produce, bakery, seafood items have been out of date(expired) or its been the last day before expiration. Shelves are mostly empty & it doesn't seem like mgmt or the employees really care about the store or customers. It's amazing it still has customers tbh. The West Roxbury location was so much nicer & food was fresh always in date & very really close to the "best by" date I would rather drive the 40+ minutes to the West roxbury location than ever set foot in this location ever again.

Went into this location to shop for a customer. I usually do self checkout because I like to bag things myself so that customer doesn't complain. I saw self checkout was moving quickly and asked a cashier if I was allowed to checkout in self checkout. She said absolutely, there's no limit. So I assumed the 15 item sign was for the first line since I was in-between 1 and self checkout. As I'm walking to do my thing, the employee (albino) stood right in front of me and said I can't use that area. I told him, I was just told I could. He said "Well, I'm the manager" (big whoop) so I told him "well, not my problem you don't have everyone on the same page," he yelled over at the sweet employee who told me there was no limit " hey, she can't use this area" the sweet employee made a confused face and said " Since WhEn???" And he replied with "she'll take care of you". Since I know you're a big boy manager and will see this, Pump your brakes a little bit. Just like I told the sweet employee, just because you have no control in your real life outside of Shaws, doesn't mean you can come to a grocery store and play rent a cop when faced with a situation. You're employed at Shaws and your job is to watch others while they check out 15 items.. it's not that serious. Other employees said that there's never been a limit, I wouldn't be surprised if you set a limit of 15 because anything more is just too much for your eyes to dart back and forth from. Just a word of advice, youre at the very bottom of the pyramid when it comes to a billion dollar corporation like Shaws Supermarkets and the fight you have for them is absolutely NOT the fight they'd put up to you. If I were to call corporate and tell them about this, they'd sincerely apologize that I had to deal with a being such as yourself and this review would probably go up on the bulletin board (either way) for all to see. Chill buddy. If you want to look big and bad, a Shaws uniform at the self checkout ain't it. As to the sweet young lady and gentlemen who ended up helping me out, great energy, y'all will clearly move up in life!
