- TMTakia Mitchell-ForemanAug 28, 20261.0I hadn’t shopped at this store, or any Star Market or Shaw’s stores period, since June due to a major past issue, but after almost three months, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and try again. Today I spent 30 minutes selecting items that matched digital coupons in their app. At checkout, neither coupon worked. Two associates tried to help before a supervisor came over and pointed out that one of the coupons was for pickup/delivery only. I completely admit that I missed that detail, but after standing there trying to figure it out with multiple staff members and even adding more items to see if the coupons would come off, I asked if there was any way to honor the discount for the items I was ready to buy. He said no and told me I'd have to order online instead. While I respect that employees have to follow store policy, basic common sense and good customer service would suggest making an exception for a customer standing right in front of you with qualifying items in hand. I left everything at the register and can officially say I won't be back to any of their stores.
