Thank you Mario and Val for going above and beyond. Diego and Jonathan at the bar are amazing. Good food will be back!

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Mastro’s, and a huge part of that was because of our waitress, Gabi. She was phenomenal from start to finish—professional, attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel taken care of throughout the entire evening. Her knowledge of the menu was excellent, her recommendations were spot-on, and she always seemed to know exactly when we needed something without ever making us feel rushed. That level of service is rare and really elevated the entire dining experience. The food was incredible, but Gabi’s service is what made the night truly memorable. Mastro’s is lucky to have her. We will absolutely be back, and we’ll definitely be asking for Gabi again. Highly recommend!

I recently dined at Mastro’s and had an absolutely wonderful experience! The New York Strip was cooked perfectly. We also had the iceberg Wedge, which was wonderful as well. The only thing that topped the food was the service provided to me while dining there. We were greeted with a smile as soon as we walked through the door and our waitress (Gabi) provided us with top tier service. She had such a cheerful smile and attitude and really helped make this entire experience an absolutely perfect night.

I visited Mastro’s during Dine Out Boston and it was a bit of a disappointing experience. The indoor seating area of the restaurant had a nice ambiance but was also cramped with tables too close together which made it so servers often had to lean into your space or reach over you to get things to neighboring tables. The service was also obscenely slow. Our waiter was kind, but was also working an event in one of the private dining rooms and would disappear for 20-30 minutes. We also never received an item we had ordered. I had a steak, lobster Mac and cheese, cocktail, and a dessert which all tasted good, but the slow service left a very bad impression. The three star rating is for the food, drinks, and the general ambiance.

Honestly? At best, Maestro’s was mediocre. We went specifically because we wanted to participate in Dine Out Boston and were looking forward to having a nice, elevated dining experience. Unfortunately, the service really missed the mark. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, yet we barely saw our waiter. There was very little checking in, and the overall service felt inattentive and disconnected. I hate to say it, but I genuinely feel like we could have gotten more attentive service at Applebee’s. When you’re dining at a restaurant that positions itself as a fine-dining establishment, the service should reflect that. Another thing that stood out was the Dine Out Boston menu. We actually had to ask for it. Since we specifically went there for Dine Out Boston, I would have expected the menu to be offered when we were seated or at least made obvious. If you’re going specifically for the Dine Out Boston experience, just be aware that you’ll probably need to ask for the menu. Was the experience terrible? No. Would I say don’t go? Not necessarily. But would I go back expecting a true fine-dining experience? Probably not. There’s nothing worse than walking into a restaurant expecting an elevated experience and leaving thinking, “That was just…okay.” For the price point and the reputation, I expected more. Three stars because it wasn’t awful—but there’s definitely room for improvement, particularly when it comes to the service.
