  Beware - they upcharge on the bill. E.g. mango lassi is listed as $7 on the menu but on the bill they charged $11 for it. Was like this for multiple items including beer. Also, we ordered navrtana kurma and they deliverered Shahi paneer. The worst part is that they tried to argue that what they gave us was Navratna korma ! We are Indian and can recognize the difference between 2 completely different dishes ! Food was average. Ambience good.

  Had a very bad experience with the staff here. We went to celebrate a friend’s birthday and brought our own cake. We were charged a $20 external cake fee, which we were not aware of and, more importantly, were never informed about by the staff. When we asked about the charge, the staff was extremely rude and spoke to us very disrespectfully. It’s understandable to have a cake-cutting fee, but customers should be informed about it beforehand, and there is no excuse for treating customers poorly when they ask a reasonable question. Very disappointing experience. We definitely won’t be coming back.

  Parts of the visit were nice. Time with the people I was with was very nice. Our servers were generally good. ** I've updated my review to focus less on some details and maybe seem less alarming.** Overall, not my favorite - food was pretty decent but relatively heavy. The t.v content I didn't like and it confused me how even after changing it, it was very intense content. Bathroom area was a little chaotic and not as nice as the dining area. Personally it was hard to understand this place. I liked what they were going for with the decoration but something didn't feel right overall. Near the end of the night music was nice. There were some specific issues with our seats and cleanup from the previous table that we didn't understand, but mistakes happen that's fine. This sort of feels like it has some top down vision but a lack of execution. Maybe the folks on other levels need more support to execute the kind of experience that people want. Also, the dishes should not be such wide & shallow bowls honestly, because it cools down much faster. I hope it's better next time.

  Could be a very nice place with just a little bit more effort. Nice clean and well done interior. Staff was very friendly and helpful but all seemed new to the job and a little stressed. The food was good but not a standout. There was an interesting cocktail list that we were excited to try. Unfortunately, whoever was behind the bar that night was not a mixologist. When you fail at making a gin and tonic its time to explore other career opportunities.

  Pretty good food, great chicken tandoori. Service is lacking though (on both occasions I went). Note that they charge SIX dollars for a really tiny side of chutney (like 2-3 spoons worth), which I was stunned by. Also six dollars for a side of basmati rice (a small single serving). On one occasion, I was accidentally charged twice. I noticed after I left the restaurant and called to ask them to refund one charge, but no one picked up. I then left a voicemail about it. No one from Kahaani ever called me back. I then disputed the extra charge with my credit card company and the restaurant never responded to the credit company’s inquiry. Bizarre and aggravating experience.
