⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an early evening reservation at Joe’s Waterfront and were seated quickly upon arrival. Our waitress, Emily B., was awesome. She was patient, professional, and not once did she leave anyone in our group with an empty glass. She was prompt with taking our drink and appetizer orders and gave us just the right amount of time to enjoy our appetizers before taking our entrée order. I had the Captain’s Platter, which had the perfect amount of clams, cod, scallops, and shrimp. Others in our group enjoyed the fish and chips, the Cure Burger, and a Caesar salad with steak tips that were cooked to perfection. Great food, excellent service, and a beautiful waterfront atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

I usually pick many restaurants that are definitely do over upon traveling to different places. Unfortunately this time we got one that will not be returning to. While visiting in Boston we went to Joe's waterfront. It appeared to be very cozy and the atmosphere was really nice. Unfortunately to start with we had to make reservations which is no problem but we wanted to request outside seating instead of inside seating. We were told that they cannot guarantee outside sheeting because it's first come first serve, but we had reservations anyway for the restaurant. When we arrived. Probably about 20 minutes early. They said you would have to wait for a table and we asked if we can have the outside because it was first coming first serve. We were then told that it was going to be at least an hour to an hour and a half wait for outside even though there were tables available. But our table inside would be ready in 20 minutes. Very confusing way of operating if it's first come first serve outside with open tables but you had to wait an hour and a half. When we finally was seated, our waiter was so soft-spoken that we had to ask him multiple times what he was saying. After we got our drinks we put in our order for our appetizers and the meals all the same time. Service was a bit slow and after about 20 minutes the appetizers came out and shortly after that. Maybe another 15-20 minutes the way they came back and said I'm ready to take your order now. We advise him that we had already placed the order with him and he had to look through all his receipts to find ours. Cuz that took longer because the food could have been in at the same time. Nobody ever came back to refill our Waters which were all emptied due to it being a beautiful warm day outside and a lot of walking around. So with the waiter only really checking on this once after the food was delivered it was poor that he did not stop by multiple times at least. When given the bill for our dinner he took our card and prior to our signature on the authorization for the card. I had already received a notification on my phone that my card was used to pay for the meal. This was even prior to me signing the authorization.. we definitely were not happy about that part as well. It didn't seem like it was that busy there and I think he definitely could have done a better job.

My hometown eatery failed me. I was bringing my son home from surgery back to Florida- We met up with family at good old Joes. (cant go wrong) Seated right away, outside, amazing! Ordered drinks-flawlessly. Upon receiving drinks, we ordered a chowder for the table. Which arrived with no spoons, (not 3) but none! As we waited, I finally stopped someone else to grab spoons for us, the chowder was room temp by then- Yuck. Bummer. We ordered a lobster roll to split. And my son (specific dietary needs) orders a side of grilled chicken. And a side of macaroni. We asked for a side of ranch for fries. Fast fwd: No salt and pepper, I walked inside to obtain that. No sweetner for the tea, after asking several times. The food first delivered to the wrong table. Was pathetic! The roll had approx 1.5 claws, tiny at that, and 2 knuckles, a piece of tail, you just looked right through at lettuce, lack there of also. Completely an embarrassment to your display and advertisement of the roll. More importantly my son’s food- came out in a bowl all mixed together. Who gets to decides when to throw 2 separate sides into 1 bowl??? There for he never got to eat. At that point I was so annoyed and appalled at the fact I recommended Joes. To make matters worse, the waitress walked by asked how things were (one time) All of our plates were pushed forward. With napkins laying over them. You think she would take the hint to pick it up? No. Which followed by me asking for the check. Again, common practice to pick up plates, deliver check. I def will not be back. 100% dissatisfied. That made for a shit ty Evening. Thank you.

First time at the waterfront location (was served raw chicken wings at the Newbury Street location). Sat at the bar for dinner with my boyfriend. Was a good 15-25 minutes before even being greeted by the bartender despite half the bar being empty. Totally fine no biggie. Finally ordered some apps, the buffalo chicken dip and clam chowder. My boyfriend was enjoying the clam chowder until he got to the bottom, where he found a large Petri dish looking piece of plastic. We decided that wasn’t a big deal and we wouldn’t say anything because stuff happens and he had already eaten a majority of it! We ordered entrees. I got a ceasar salad and he got the steak bowl, cooked medium. When we were served, his steak was barely cooked rare. Ok annoying but he still ate it. My ceasar salad was drenched in dressing, typically a great thing but this was overpowering. I only ate 1/3 of it. Whatever, happens. Cut to three hours later laying in bed when I get a sudden need to go to the bathroom. What started as splatter craps ended in a 4 hour long bathroom stay with explosive diarrhea. Definitely came from Joes but could have been anything. For whatever reason my boyfriend insisted on eating my leftover salad the next day. A few hours later… same thing, splatter craps to hours long of liquid diarrhea. Now cut to three days later and we are both still feeling a queasy stomach and ongoing splatter craps. All from a ceasar salad. Don’t eat here trust me. Drinks were fine, they might be safe. Update: boyfriend is now on the way to the hospital with severe dehydration due to food poisoning. Thanks Joes!

We had a great experience at Joe’s Waterfront, visiting twice - once for dinner and once for lunch. Both times everything went really well. Even during a busy lunch when the restaurant was full, service was still efficient and didn’t take long, which was impressive. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, contributing to an overall relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. We tried the crab dip, Maine lobster roll, crab crusted haddock, fish and chips, Joe’s Mac & 5-cheese, and Joe’s prime burger. Everything was good, but our clear favorites were the crab dip and the Maine lobster roll - both absolutely delicious and worth coming back for. Overall, a very solid dining experience in a great waterfront setting. We would definitely return and highly recommend it!
