Our first time at City Winery for the “Sejoe” was such a great experience. We brought our moms, and Dani (server) made everything smooth and welcoming from start to finish. Our moms had a wonderful time, and we truly appreciated the excellent service.

As an artist agent the Haymarket lounge is great for intimate concerts BUT the artists have to walk through the crowd and do not have stage access specifically for them. This takes away from the show a bit. The menu is expensive so be prepared for that. Overall good experience.

The band I saw here was fantastic and I’m glad I went to see them, but I will NOT be returning to this venue again. WAY too expensive for less than mid food, and they require that each person bought two items. I would have LOVED to buy some merch from the band but I couldn’t justify spending more money after spending $70 on an appetizer, a burger, a plain cup of twinings tea (no sugar, honey, etc) and a coca cola no refills. Left feeling hungry and unsatisfied and spent as far as food went. And while the show was amazing, it was super uncomfortable all night spending the whole 2 hour show with our necks turned to the side, squeezed tight between three tables and servers trying to squeeze through people during the show when there isn’t even enough room for us to scoot our chairs in for them to get through because we’re already squeezed so tight. I really hope that when the band I like eventually returns they play at a different venue.

A professional operation. It was easy to find. Convenient nearby parking. Sound system was excellent. Service was very good and attentive. Mediterranean veggie plate was fresh and tasty. The burgers and flatbreads coming out of the kitchen looked great. Show, food and drink prices were comparable to everywhere else in Boston. We will visit again.

I’ve been to City Winery Boston a few times now, and overall, I do enjoy my experiences there. The shows are always a good time, and the staff are generally friendly and welcoming, which definitely adds to the atmosphere.
That said, I think there are a few areas that could really use improvement. An issue for me is the seating layout. The tables are packed very closely together, which makes it difficult to move around the space comfortably. It often feels like the layout is designed to maximize capacity, but at the expense of guest comfort. Navigating between tables can be tight, and you can end up sitting very close to other parties, which takes away from the overall experience, especially given the price point.
Service has also been a bit inconsistent during my visits. While staff are kind, it sometimes feels like there aren’t enough team members for the number of guests, so getting attention or assistance can take longer than expected.
Another major point is the membership program. Since it’s a paid membership, I expected a more seamless and proactive experience. While I’ve been acknowledged as a member when seated, the benefits, particularly points accumulation, haven’t been consistently applied. There hasn’t been much initiative from staff to confirm or process membership use during visits, which feels like a missed opportunity. In a setting where people are enjoying drinks and may not always remember to bring it up themselves, I think there should be a more active effort from staff to ensure members are actually receiving the benefits they’re paying for.
I did reach out to support about missing points and was offered a small adjustment, which I appreciate, but it didn’t fully address the issue. It seems like something that could be avoided altogether with better in-person processes and communication.
Overall, I still enjoy coming here for the entertainment and ambiance, but given the pricing and membership structure, I think there’s room for improvement in both the seating experience and how membership benefits are handled.
