We went there for Cinco de Mayo, and although they had decorated like they expected a crowd, they apparently hadn't staffed for one because the food took a really long time. And also...it wasn't extremely crowded when we were there at 6pm so all of these issues make no sense. I ordered a diablo margarita which tasted like straight tequila so I asked them to add a little lime or triple sec (which was already supposed to be in there). My drink came back without the tajin rim, but tasted much better. Partial win. The chips were good, but the salsa was a watery pico de gallo. But that was free so no real complaints yet. Then we ordered queso fundido as a starter, and instead of being melty cheesy goodness it was an oily clumpy mess. I didn't time how long our entrees took to come out, but it was long enough that they were apologizing. Just to be clear, we didn't complain to the servers, we were chatting and having a fine time, and they were walking up to us awkwardly apologizing. The servers were really trying, but when they brought us dessert as an apology, I did feel the need to say "you realize we haven't eaten our meals, yet, right?" When the meals finally came out...I had ordered tinga enchiladas with chipotle and tomatillo sauce on top. It came with chipotle and mole sauce which I don't like. Also with black beans instead of refried beans. My boyfriend ordered pinto beans and his also came with black beans. All the meals came with rice that had hard uncooked/overcooked pieces in it. My boyfriend ordered the chile relleno and it had scrambled egg in it. Possibly intentional, but if so, weird. Also, for the price, the portions were small.
